Silver really is hell

So im in silver obviously. now im not gonna say im the like best silver out there but i can at least hold my own and my kda each game is pretty decent usually pretty decent with the exception of a few pretty bad games. Up until this point I never really believed all those post saying how silver was the worst elo (or gold) because I just never had experienced the extreme level of toxicity and unfair matchups untl now. by unfair matchups, I mean when teammates troll or when someone goes afk, or ints. Now im a simple boy, I just want to rank up, however, I now see that ranking up is going to become extremely difficult; not due to my own skill but due to the lack of punishment put on players who seem to enjoy ruining the game for others. If I was stuck in silver because of my own lack of skill then that would be totally fine, and im sure to some extent it is, but I find it increasingly frustrating that it is so difficult to climb due to no one else's fault than my own teammates. I recently played against a team whos support Nunu was feeding our team; I couldn't help but feel bad for making them surrender cause in actuality had they had a non-trolling support they probably would have won because their Tristana was significantly better than our jinx but because they had no real support backing her up it was easy to pick her off.

The point of this post is mostly just to let off steam and rant but I do find it a serious issue with this game. It becomes hard to enjoy this game when other people ruin it for you. Being in low elo means that the 'meta' doesnt feel like it applies much so i cant find a reason yet to blame the current hatred for this game on the champion imbalance, but as a silver player the thing that deters me from playing this game is the other people who play this game, not the game itself. I really hope riot does something to fix this issue. Im not gonna say im going to stop playing as id be lying to myself, but I would be much happier if i can go into a rank game without worry that one of my teammates will drop out or feed and proceed to rage.

Bronze 2 wasn't this bad, Silver is ass, gold is OK until gold 2/gold 1. Silver is hell, especially since Riot won't permaban people who admit to trolling/going afk.

I have heard alot of High ELO streamers/youtube reference Platinum 1 to Diamond 4 as the worst ELO to be in terms of game quality and difficulty to climb from. Though I will agree that unless you are spamming champions that can carry an entire game consistently (at silver ELO not sure about higher tiers) like Nasus/Shyvana/Brand you are SOL, and it will take quite a while even performing well the majority of your games.

I like Silver better than I do Bronze. It has its own problems, for sure, usually relating to ego, aggression, and emotional instability. Ego is a really scary one because it’s the hardest to fix in-game: being spiteful and easily slighted make it hard to advise someone or change their minds. Aggression at the micro and macro levels is another issue but responds well to calm, clear, firm shot-calling. Emotional instability is a wildcard: you have to catch and address it before it becomes tilt.

I definitely get the impression that lots of Silver players are former Bronze players who decided to climb. Not all of these players are bad or bad people, but the ones that are have unhealthy playstyles and expectations. They want to get fed, snowball, and carry the game, and when they can’t, they collapse in one way or another. Giving up, feeding, or ignoring the team, they can throw winnable games just because they’re not personally winning them. It’s one of the most frustrating and disappointing ways to lose.

My problem with Low Elo is they dont know how to win and like to believe there good.

I have been told by many players this season that i play like a bronze and in one game i laughed because they even looked me up and the draven asked why am I high silver and he didn't understand, his words.

The plays i do are designed to end the game by 15 - 20 mins and if my team cant keep up i know there shit. However i still win majority of my games.

Just exploit how weak towers are and dont be afraid to tower dive at lvl 4 if you prep correctly.

Also the most favorite word everyone uses now is arrogant. Sorry for wanting to win.

I feel you. Last season, I bounced between silver 2 and silver 3 about 5 times. Usually because of an AFK or really bad players. So glad I started in gold this season.

Plat 1/2 Diamond 5/4 are the true elo hell. Games are a complete fiesta.

Silver is a test of how good your macro is, really if you are making good rotations and not feeding it is not too difficult.

If silver is hell, what is bronze?

It is better to vent on the boards in a constructive manner, than to rage in game

Maybe the devs were on to something about reasons why people post here

Silver is okay, at least compared to higher elo, gold is the nicest I would say.

But the worst elo by far is plat 1- dai 4, it's actually rare to get a team that is not toxic, winning or losing, you have to take plenty of breaks in it not to stress out to much. People going afk is another thing that happens more commonly then in other elo as well.

I want back in lower rank but I end up climbing, that might not seem like a problem, but it just adds so much stress.
