A suggestion to balance Leblanc

Before I begin I would like to express that I, for one, generally have no problems laning against Leblanc. But I've a suggestion that I believe might balance her out and make her less oppressive to lane against for others that might also promote healthy and rewarding game-play without necessarily gutting her power.

My suggestion? Make her Q a linear collision skill shot with 900-1000 range (just like her Ethereal Chains), though it can retain it's missile speed. This change would add several layers of counter-play to her.

  1. being a skill shot means you have an opportunity to dodge it. Currently, her having access to Q means she can completely zone you from even attempting to farm. If you're within a certain range of her, you'll likely die having almost no time to react to her, and even if you can you'll likely be so chunked that it will just discourage you from wanting to get within 700 range of her. Making it a collision skill shot means she would have to find a way to position herself so that her Q can land and mark her desired target. This also means that her opponent can position themselves carefully or be punished for being out of position, something assassins should be doing anyways.

  2. This also means she can farm from a relatively safe distance if she needs so its not an entirely bad change.

  3. You could even make it to where if you mimic the Q (AND ONLY THE Q) it will silence the opponent as a reward for landing both skill shots instead of just copying W all the time.

thoughts?

I, for one, am a huge, huge opponent of the general trend of turning point and clicks into skillshots.

I believe it makes the game incredibly reactionary rather than strategic.

I believe it heavily favours those with low ping and punishes those with higher ping.

I believe it punishes champions who face highly mobile champions.

Plus, not having the choice of hitting minions or hitting champions is a double-nerf.

It does nothing but add a layer of frustration to playing the champion, regardless of whether it's Ryze or Veigar or Leblanc.

True, this could technically work. But in all honesty, just having an actual functioning hitbox on her E would be really helpful. Also.. a possibility to break the chains (which is incredibly difficult since it tents to stay attached, along with her mobility it makes it virtually impossible to escape it).

This would never work. She would be far too unreliable.

I think the only point-click move that needs to become a skillshot is Irelia's Q. Makes her too binary. Either she is ahead and is in range of you, in which case she will engage and out-trade you, or she isn't and she loses.

Not fun.
