Riot nerfing champions who do well with Deathfire Torch (Swain, Anivia, Brand and then Malzahar), then nerf Deathfire Torch and keep these champion nerfs...

At the same time, Riot just fixed Warlord's Bloodlust instead of nerfing Yasuo and Tryndamere.

Riot nerfed Sated Devourer without ever touching it's biggest abusers.

Riot nerfed Guinsoo instead of Jax/Xin/Yi/Irelia/whatever the f*ck abuses it.

I'm not saying it's bad they did that, but... why not do the same in case of goddamn Deathfire Touch? And for god's sake, when they're gonna revert some of Sejuani's nerfs? She was in better state pre-cinderhulk.

Most likely because all of those masteries, by themselves, were extremely powerful (much more than Deathfire Touch ever was) not just on Yasuo/Trynd (for the Warlord example) but on pretty much any Champion that could use them.

On the other hand, DFT isn't really that strong on non-fringe cases (like Brand/Malz etc.) For reference, Brand, with just DFT, jumped over 20 spots and landed as the defacto #1 Champion when it comes to win% (and hasn't really fallen that much post-nerf).

But on any other Champion that could potentially use it, nothing really changed. Guys like Azir (who can go both Thunderlord's and Deathfire, but has significantly higher winrate with Deathfire) didn't really move (he actually fell down the ranks slightly, but that's because people are using Thunderlord's on him - with Deathfire his Win% didn't really change). Rumble, one of the Champions that benefit the most from DFT, fell down the ranks heavily.

Well, that's my assumption. And you can check my Match History if you want, but I don't play Champs like Yasuo/Trynd, so this is an opinion from someone that uses DFT.

TL;DR - In my opinion, Warlord's was the problem, not the Champions using them (although I do wish Riot would just gut Yasuo, as someone that likes to play skillshot mages). On the other hand, DFT is not the main problem - it's the Champions abusing DFT. That's my 2c.
