I was autofilled in 4 of my ranked placements. I lost 3 of them.
Everytime I got what I picked I won, I was autofilled twice top (I have like no good top laners) and I lost twice. I have autofilled support twice and I won once cause I can use leona. The second time leona was banned and they picked the only other support I was good with. Blitzcrank.
Why the fuck is there an autofill system in ranked? I blame this dumb system for ruining my ranked season.

Kai Guy1 votesBecause Pick order is much worse then auto fill, and Que times are an issue for a high % of playerbase. Auto fill mostly hurts 1 tricks, Accounts with low champion pools, and players with narrow role/champ knowledge and skill. Jack of all trades, master of none, but better than a master of one as they say.
Now, its entirely accurate and fair to point out there are flaws with auto fill as it exists and that improvements can and should be made. Personally I feel that Remakes or lobby dodges should not remove Fill protection. That when there is a higher number of players online folks should get a few extra rounds of fill protection to help spread the auto fill distribution more, avoid bad luck creating frustrating situations where you get filled soon as protection ends. Some players want a Opt in That you can select a worst role, I don't think that's inherently bad but I have some hesitation due to support and fear it might create a negative cycle that spirals for that role being filled.
XxDRAGONsAK47xX2 votesI can play every role just fine, I have at least 2 level 7s in every role. I just am a lot better at Mid and Jungle than I am at any other role. I understand having auto fill in a normal game, but in a ranked game? I don't want to be in a role where I'm not comfortable in. Ranked queue times should be long, they should find the best connection (i had a guy playing from South Korea with a constant ping of 130. We still won though), and ranks that are close together.
Autofilling is big reason as to why climbing is hard. You could be on a 5 game win streak in the top lane, but then suddenly you get autofilled mid (A role you dont play much) and you go up against a level 7 Fizz. Oh how easy it will be for him. Then you'll lose, tilt into oblivion, and it will probably ruin your next game.
Autofilling is just a cancerous system to have in a competitive game mode
Kai Guy1 votesIt is still a better system then Pick order. I get the frustration with auto fill, I do, but It really does seem to be a necessary evil at this point. Online teamgames like this die when que times get to high. Dev's have watched this happen to other games, hell Riot saw it first hand with teambuilder. As much having auto fill sucks it is here to fix a bigger problems then it causes. I don't ever wanna see pick order again, Riot clearly does not believe that they can do it as Roles = roles and maintain the game or they would just swap to that.
So, wouldent it be better if instead of everyone going on about auto fill being cancer to focus on finding solutions that appeal to the community to remove some of the sting? If ya don't do that then the only options I can see are to go back to pick order or make it so folks only get their roles. Pick is way worse system for competitive game mode. I doubt the Devs will ever do roles only unless they have 100% confidence it will be healthy and viable for the game long term, it would be a really hard feature to revert if they made that change as the back lash would likely exceed the current auto fill.
So looking for ways to improve it, how do you think a 3rd role that's your preference for if you have to get filled sound to you? Please share any ideas on how auto fill can exist in a healthy way if ya got some.
XxDRAGONsAK47xX1 votesAs I said, I think autofill is fine in normal games. But in a competitive game mode no one should be forced to play something they don't want to. I don't care about queue times, I don't care about waiting 10 minutes for a ranked game. Its ranked. Matching making should be long because it needs to be near Perfect.
Imagine is riot forced Pro teams to have their members switch roles every game. That wouldn't be fun for the players because they would be forced to play roles they aren't good at. And they'd lose the game. Now that wouldn't be a true display of skill would it, how can you say you beat TSM fair and square if Bjergsen was playing ADC and not mid. Losing a game because you weren't where you're best at is very infuriating. If Riot wouldn't treat pro teams like that, why treat players like that.

Its unrealistic to look at solo and 5 man premade play as the same. Its a hypothetical but its not grounded in reality man. Pros have to deal with it if they play solo que. If you feel the game has to be changed so players never have to play something they don't want, then we would also have to remove bans, some times you need to just own up to not getting your way. I loved teambuilder, id happily wait 15+ for matches, you sound much the same, its not about us. Please just take a moment and set aside your personal feelings and look at it objectively for why its here and what it does and if the changes you want alienate or hurt other players.

I completely agree with you here and with what you said about bjergsen getting filled in pro play like seriously this system is bullshit like yes I'm a top lane pantheon 1 trick pony that's what I play that's what I like why force me to play support in ranked where ill feed like league of legends is a sport right? in my opinion it is think about this for real life sports what if you are playing soccer and your goalie was autofilled forward ? no one expects a soccer player to know every role but for some reason in league I'm supposed to play every role at a equal level as my main I'm a platinum 4 top laner but I play support like a bronze 4 why do that to my team they don't want a b4 support in a plat game and then I get flamed like really riot pls fix this
