Damage is a bit too high

Played a game. by 10 minutes we lost 4 towers. By 16 minutes our Nexus.

Was pretty fun not gonna lie. I love getting stomped into oblivion.

imo i think its not the damge thats too high

its the fact that everyone who isnt a committed tank starts off with 0 bonus armor and mr

XxDRAGONsAK47xX6 votes

That's true...

But still, I got deleted by a jungle yasuo at level 3. Q, AA, E, Q, AA, AA = Ded

Riot doesn't think anything through before making a change. Just stop playing. Save you the hassle

If you get stomped this hard this happened in any season.

That said, it's preseason, it is going to be very inbalanced for a while

XxDRAGONsAK47xX20 votes

Um.......

No, I've never been stomped this hard. These runes are just super good

Glory ln Death8 votes

Of the 9 games I've played on SR with the new runes, 4 have lasted 40+ minutes, 3 were 30-40 minutes, and only 2 were 20-30 minutes. Just because you had one game where you got stomped doesn't mean that's the norm.

tfw one game is now the sample size people base balance off of. Lol

You've just been lucky. Games have snowballed that hard in many seasons. All that matters is how good the enemy is at punishing. Your game sounds more like a matchmaking issue than a presason one.

PB4UAME1 votes

It used to not even really be possible to break the base pre 20 minutes, let alone win by then. I had 1 game ever last less than 20 minutes before season 6, and I played over 2000 games season 1-5. After then, well, its been a fucking shit show.

Death by Glamour11 votes

its been unbalance for the entire season

"because preseason" isnt an excuse when they dropped the rune changes onto an already unbalanced game

RISE Shlack1231 votes

Lol? How do you propose they balance the game then? PBE? Nobody plays on PBE in the last month of the season because they are still trying to get their ranked goals. The only way to balance new season changes properly is on live servers. And if you've been around this game a while (clearly you haven't based on your comment, but I digress) then you'd know that ever pre-season is a clown-fiesta clusterfuck.

Either give it time or just sit it out until they run a few more patches. But this is a silly comment on an already silly thread.

Death by Glamour1 votes

...

The point I made

Your head

How do you expect them to balance the game now with runes added to the mess that was already their.

They couldn't or wouldn't balance the game before then. The entire season was a clown fiesta but simply blaming our current predicament on "luls preseason" is just idiotic

RISE Shlack1231 votes

Lol...I didn't miss your point. I outright dismissed it.

How about you go work on game development and get back to us when you figure out how difficult balancing a game with extremely minuscule data is. Then you can get on here and preach about the first major patch after major updates should be rolled out balanced.

Death by Glamour2 votes

Miniscule data?!?

How many games were played throughout the entire season

Even the casters were joking about twitch and cho gath during the lcs.

My point is that if the attempted to balance the game previously we would have been in a far better place rather than where we currently.

So yes, you have missed my point.

RISE Shlack1231 votes

You were originally talking about the new Rune system, and I called you on it. I'm not talking about balancing champions - we all know that shit is outta whack. But balancing a brand-new, overhauled Rune system with no data is virtually impossible.

Don't back-track on me.

Edit: Also, a lot of the reason Riot didn't make major changes to champions was because the new Rune system was coming. At least from their perspective, they didn't want another Sej situation.

Donno why your getting downvoted for this, when the balance team couldn't even figure out twitch was a problem, and still hasn't.

Yeah, games are one hell of a clusterfuck clown fiesta. Midgame happens at 6 minutes sometimes.

XxDRAGONsAK47xX5 votes

yeah lmao.

I'm being oneshotted and am oneshotting as soon as level 6 comes.

StoryDuck4 votes

Maybe its not an abundance of damage....maybe its a lack of armor and mr.

Not xPeke3 votes

the result is the same. (but in any case, there is an abundance of damage. To make things worse, lack of defensive stats too)

StoryDuck1 votes

Actually, not the same. with the recent update they removed runes but they only added base armor, damage or health to champions not MR. This has a huge impact on AP champions and their poke making them a lot stronger. I would also point out that many mid laners would pick armor runes when going against an AD assassin in mid like Zed or Talon but they can't do that anymore. At most they can get +5 armor to start with. There was a huge ability to customize your defensive stats for whatever matchup you were in but now we don't have that option. This makes damage seem a lot higher even if it isn't.

That said...there are major balance issues but I don't think it's a simple matter of reducing damage. Each champion needs to be looked at and adjusted for the runes individually.

Not xPeke1 votes

damage was already too high even before this pre-season change. Damage/power creep is real and it has been going on for a while.

it doesn't matter if there are reasons that make it "seem" that damage is alot higher. It's a matter of perspective and relativity. The result is that damage is higher... that's just the bottom line lol. Whether it's because defensive stats customization was reduced, or damage was increased, or defense stats were decreased - it doesn't matter. Fact is proportianally speaking, when you look at health bars and stuff, damage is over the top.

Each champion may very well need to be looked at individually, but the game as whole should have 20% damage taken off across the WHOLE board. Just reduce the whole game's damage by 20%. (random example. I obviously don't know the exact number, but you get my point)

The game's currently in the preseason. To compensate for changes to runes and masteries, they seem to have been maxed out to begin with to see how the meta will shift. Damage is going to be extremely high due to this, and may stay this way. If you want, you could always wait until season 8 starts and play when the game is more balanced.

I miss when you had time to shut down Master Yi and Tristana before they started wrecking faces. I miss when games could go on for 40 minutes until you managed to claw your way back and win by improving and being careful. Now if you're not dedicating every second to killing hypercarries they are at lategame in 10 minutes, and once you're down a couple kills and a tower you may as well surrender.

SpiritOfOdysseus1 votes

This ^

and the fact that Riot completely ignores how broken Summoners Rift is and infact thinks its the opposite is truly fucking IGNORANT

BALDG1VEN BOOMER2 votes

That’s not damage it’s towers, you can buff damage creep through the roof as long as towers get compensation they’ll be fine.

But I would agree though damage creep is awful right now, almost any spell at level one does nearly 200 damage and god forbid you get hit with Ezreal Qs.

XxDRAGONsAK47xX2 votes

Ezreal's q, MF's Q, Cait's headshot passive is so bullshit in terms of early game damage and poke potential.

Like FFs, if MF lands a q on you, you lose a quarter - half of your hp. Meanwhile my auto attacks MIGHT do 90 damage...

Can you just wait at least ONE WEEK into pre-season before bitching and moaning on forums?item 3083

Gubaguy2 votes

Ive been bitching about this since the juggernaut update, or maybe before, did marksmen come before or after juggernaut?

Point is, they keep upping damage to make games faster, people dont want that, they want to have STRATEGY in their STRATEGY game, not just 2 shotting left and right by overtuned, impossibly mobile champions.

I mean, if I wanted to have fast paced gameplay I would play Titanfall 2

Sorry why are there so many summoner names that start and end with xx or xxx? Is it a secret thing? Is it a single person with a load of accounts? Is it the mark of eloboosting? I'm dead serious. What does it mean?

XxDRAGONsAK47xX2 votes

No lol, its a long story for me...

Around 8 years ago I was playing a computer game called Stronghold: Legends. I met a guy on there and we played together for a few hours. After those hours he asked me if I played minecraft (lol) I said no. He gave me one of his alt accounts. The name was XxDRAGONsAK47xX. After a few days of getting on and us playing I decided to change the account password, so I technically stole his account. After a week we stopped talking and we moved on. Ever since then I've used XxDRAGONsAK47xX for all my PC account names.

I think it stems from old ways of getting a username already taken: my own is similar since I suck at coming up with something cool. I aped the name "Greil" from a fire emblem game, but that was taken. Xbox live suggested the one you see, and that's been my persona ever since.

Yep. I picked Veigar into Fizz in a blind pick game. He hit 6 and then I spent more time dead than alive. Literally 0 counterplay available without flash and even then he still usually got me.

Saljin1 votes

fizz is a counter to veigar. so it is normal

MonkeyMadness6 votes

{quoted}

O ya ik. But he literally hit level 6 and within 1 second I went from 100 to 0. That's not normal.

Cliticus1 votes

that is normal. fizz has insanely high damage as an assassin, his ult increases in damage the further it goes. I will assume he went domination with sorcery for electrocute + 18 AP, and starting with item 1056 item 2003 . so hed be at 31 ap. and gaining 40 AP from absolute focus putting him at 41 AP if hes above 70 Ap when he engages.

Electrocute does 50-220(scaling as you level)+.30%AP . At level 6 it does 73 damage and with 70 AP the you get 21 AP damage added onto that for 94 damage off electrocute.

I am going to calculate this as if fizz has had one recall already due to veigars suppresion pre 6 with this being around the 5-6 minute mark with lets say with 31 cs, he will have 1,538 gold, enough for a item 3057 , 1050 gold, and either amplifying tome or boots with pots (what id go) At lvl 6 fizz with have 97 ad. His q with ONE point in it will do 97+ 10+40%AP(38.5 rounded to 39). His W with THREE points in it will deal 40+40%AP(28) DOT, and the active which is an auto reset, will deal the same, but the damage can be tripled if the trident icon above the targets head is filled it will deal triple damage for 204. The DOT deals its full damage over three seconds. His E with ONE point in it will deal 70+75%AP (52.5 rounded to 53) His R with ONE point in it will deal 150+60%AP (42)

all that damage with atleast TWO sheen procs will do Fizz q's in for 97+97+10+39= 243, this applies the DOT from his w for 68 damage and starting the first ticks of the trident which takes two seconds to complete, he will probs ult now, to activate guppy the one i calculated, so 192 damage when it pops you in the air, and he can activate his w now for 204+97 damage for 301, plus reapplying the 68 damage dot. all of this has by now applied electrocute for 94 damage (probably procced after the q auto as sheen damage counts as its own source of damage) Since this so far has not been enough to kill you, he will now E for 123 and auto for 97+97(184) from the sheen proc. and because this is fizz we are talking about he will be weaving in autos as this happens. None of this is factoring in the AA weaving or ignite.

Total damage: 243+68+192+301+68+94+123+184= 1273.

veigar will have at lvl 6 (assuming you hit 6) 1069 HP, WITHOUT electrocute he still woulda died. fizz just has really high damage.

Build resistances. Tank items matter a lot more than they used to now.

Honestly it feels like I'm back in S1-S2. Almost everyone is squishy without tank items. I wouldn't be surprised if marksmen started building them again as well.
