Why does Annie get to keep her stun after using an ability? [READ]

FOR EXAMPLE: If annie has her stun and uses Q on Zed while he ULTS and dodges it, HER STUN IS STILL UP.

EXAMPLE 2: If annie has her stun and uses Q on Fizz while he uses Trickster and dodges it, HER STUN IS STILL UP.

EXAMPLE 3: If annie has her stun and uses Q on ANYONE who uses Zhonyas to go into stasis to dodge her Q and stun, HER STUN IS STILL UP.

For her Q, the attack has to connect in order to register the stun. Since Zed ults to dodge, the attack never connects, and thus the stun remains. This is different from her W and R as both of those are not direct targeted abilities.

Exactly, Where's the counter-play to her Q stun?

tbh it sounds like something that Riot meant to fix but never got around to. She's listed as God-tier on nerf plz so eventually enough people might complain for Riot to do something.

I've personally never noticed this occurrence (since I usually use W/R for stunning as it's instant).

Well thats actually counterplay to Zed. Otherwise she would have nothing.

?? Is using one of her 2 instant AoE abilities not an option?

Her stun is consumed when the ability hits the target.

While W and R are ground-casted, her Q is targeted.

It should be used when she uses an ability while her stun is up, It's more fair that way, Regardless, She's fine where she at, Just thinking about the little things that could add more counter-play.

Cause she didnt stun anything? Same if u have 4 stacks and u spam W to stack your tear for example, u wont lose stacks. U lose them upon landing stun on something.

That's not fair, Where's the counter-play?

There really is none. Annie's just below Yi and trynd as far as I'm concerned on the obnoxious champion list.

Its not really in need of counter play, Annie is extremely simple so its kind of a given that simple interactions would apply to her, there's plenty of champions like Zed Yasuo Fizz Elise Ekko Bard TahmKench and so on who have the ability to create a 'state of invulnerability' to out right middle finger plenty of champions (in Tahm's case its a ally/enemy but you get the point).

Annie can't just double stun combo (Like a certain hamster called Kennen), since she has to do 4 abilities then use another one after, which rotation wise on cooldowns, mean she only gets one shot at it, so the obvious logic is to not do the same retarded logic pubber usually pull, "Grouping into one pile of champions and not spreading apart to counter out AoE nukes/initiate ultimate/abilities who eat up those opportunities.

Not to mention Annie is literally raw AP beyond that small passive gimmick, she is easily susceptible to enemies building MR to blunt her greatly, while plenty of other champions just get 3 or 8 gimmicks stuffed in thar butt so they can easily outplay so many other types of champions. [slayer-jinx-unamused]

Only thing Annie can be obnoxious on is the same logic as other simple champions, they will destroy you if you don't actually pay attention to them and think your some EZ yolo'er of a 'overpowered champion'.

Everything must have counter-play no matter what or else the game isn't balanced nor fun, Besides, Comparing her to other champion's is stupid, Kennen stuns have counter play.

You can dodge his abilities You can stay away from him until the stacks are off you His ULT only stuns if you stay long enough inside it.

If you get stunned by Kennen, You deserve it.

Name one person who can walk out of Kennen's ult while already slowed without using flash, ghost, or an ultimate. Fuck, even if you do use flash, you can't escape it. Someone has to be stunned, because all you can do is force him to use Zhonya's so he can't chase you down. So, no, there isn't counter play to it. Letting someone zone you back to base isn't counter play, either. Not every ability needs counter play. The entire champion has counterplay.

Well Annie is a classic anti-assassin pick so it makes sense. Against other mages she's kind of useless because they have the complete range advantage so I don't think it's unfair.

bait the stun. that's my counterplay. stop going in when she has it up.

AmazoX1 votes

How will I exactly ''BAIT the stun'' when she has a targeted ability available?

You said something that has nothing to do with what I made thread about.

simple. fake going in and back off to take the stun if she goes q. then go in when her stun isn't up. it'll still hurt like a bitch but at least you'll be able to fight back.

actually..I've always noticed the stun goes away no matter what i use or if i do or don't hit anything. I've not had it once stay up when i miss or don't connect with anything...so when i saw your little post here..i was very confused at what you were talking about...once i get four stacks on annie...if i use an ability other then my shield. and don't connect with anything at all..the stun goes away..so i just have to sit there spamming my shield.....use an ability on my enemy and hope my one shot stun actually connects to them. i don't know what kinda glitch you have been seeing.

If the ability is cancelled, like in your examples, there is no reason for her stun to be used up
