My aversion against him probably blinded me in my decision. And Udyr fits the martial artist archetype for me as well. But if the people demand the sightless monk, so be it!

Ye forgot Steel type mate.

For steel I'd suggest Viktor, Galio, or having Kennen take Blitzcrank's place.

Why Galio? He's not made entirely out of stone, just look at the wings and gold plating, and having a major defensive ability is inline with the defensive nature of steel types.

Noticed it myself and added it just 1 minute before you posted this. ^^ My decision was Camille though.

Several reasons for that. Camilles title is the steel shadow. Parts of her body are made out of steel (just like Viktor, I know). Her Grappling Hook would make an awesome entrance in the arena to fight the trainer.

And Camille having Pawniard as her signature pokemon is just way too good of an opportunity.

Because dark type is evil. :O Would be cool to have a gym controlled by a dark type pokemon instead of the trainer.

Imagine abusive relationship. You have a cowardly trainer with a dark type pokemon and if the trainer doesn't do what the pokemon wants to, he gets a sucker punch.

Oh I know dark types are great. I am grass type only trainer, but Shiftry and Cacturne belong to my all time favourites.

I am sure they will give us a dark type gym in the future, just have to wait for it a bit longer. :P

kennen should be electric, or voli, the lightning for blitz is really more of a side effect, any other champ with electricity would be better (who else is electric themed?)

I wouldn't call Blitzcranks static field (the active effect of his ultimate) just a side effect though. And he would make a way better entrance in the arena in my opinion. :P
