Why do people still think annie is a support?

Annie does NOTHING to SUPPORT her team or even her adc. Her stun is for her to unload dmg on to the adc. A stun does not classify supporting otherwise might as well take jax to botlane and call him a support cuz he can 5 man stun too. Annie's are known to ks when they "support" as well. If you want to call yourself a botlane mage by all means go ahead, but calling yourself a support is stupid. A support offers heals, buffs, shields. Just because it was played in the LCS and it worked doesnt mean it makes her a support. Picking annie as a "support" is selfish and is just about as much of a support as season 2 nid. DONT even get me started on that topic.

annie isnt a support champion ... you are right

but annie can man up the support role for her team

what you dont understand there is that support is a term that has 2 meanings in lol

support is a champion who's big part of powerbudget is tied to utility that can make his team more effective 2)support is the guy who goes bot with the adc and helps him win the game

being one doesnt mean you need to be another

You guys use cc as a point for an argument but its unreliable in extended fights and cc does NOT make a champion a support. Just take gnar botlane cuz passive procs and manaless harass along with cc at every point in the game.

They say support but don't mean support, they're just not sticking to the adc supp bot meta that is strictly enforced by riot (anyone who makes that combination suffer is nerfed into oblivion).

She provides very strong CC for her team all game around. Tibbers has a really large hitbox and does substantial AoE DoT even when not fed. She has really good engage with Flash + Ult.

One reason why she is played in bottom lane as "support" rather than mid lane as a mage is because of her relatively low range. I still think more people should play Annie mid lane because I think it's still viable with the amount of damage she can dish out but her CC is just so strong that it fits in so well with a support role.

Annie can suport because she can easily catch people out, has a really good ingage, and has enough raw damage to make up for her not giving shields/heals/stupid amounts of cc/ect. The lvl 6 power spike

People will play Annie there because her stun is reliable and comes out instantly. Jax has to get in Melee range and can miss his stun completely, AND he needs to Q or walk up to melee range. Annie can just charge the stun and Q you. It's like Taric's E, with slightly more range, AND she can choose to drop a bear on them (or W is she's really close) for a 5 man stun instead.

People will always take a Mage with a stun bottom lane in low Elo. It's more reliable because you never know what kind of ADC or Jungler you will have. It's self-reliance over teamwork, which is fair to say is very lacking in low rankings.

as long as the player using annie as a support dosent feed or refuse to buy wards im ok with it. if that players takes the kills on top refusing to ward then i just build my adc with a sightstone and buy support type items that reduce cds. what gets me mad is when u get a support that say XinZhao or Gangplank is a legit support champ. then they proceed to run no setups for u to get kills or take them for themselves. the cherry on top is when u adc,top, and middle still open.
