why has my winrate with karthus skyrocketed

So I am karthus main with 340k points on him and I used to have a 50% win rate with him in norms(I do not played ranked) and now I have a 60% win rate with him. I play him top and mid and just destroy now. I cant think of anything that would of changed his match ups in fact I can fight almost everyone top lane now really easily. Its not that I am better at him than I used to be my friend who is also a karthus main has also experienced this win rate rise. I'm not saying this is a bad thing im just wondering why what changed so much that has allowed me to get a much better win rate as karthus.

Maybe his play rate being lowish, people don't see him that often and forget how to play against him? Another thing, if you play him top, his range is a huge advantage against many traditionally immobile top champs. Also as karthus, you can waveclear like a boss. So even if your opponent is good, you can stall a lane and outscale most other champs in the game in damage.
