Actually I believe the changes were specifically to make her a better jungler. That's what I heard at least.

I didn't find the changes to make much difference to her mid lane. Pretty much the same standard faire.

The runes and the current meta however... 10% CDR free, infinite mana and 900 free gold (boots hourglass) more than helped out her overall game. Shield nullifies Zoe and the other popular control mages and she can safely farm from poke so she's a very solid, if entirely average, midlaner from an attrition standpoint.

I haven't tried it yet but I suspect her real power probably lies in Predator roaming much like Annie and Malz.
