Don't degrade the skill of Plat players

I made a post about my enjoyment of facing a plat player who was clearly on a higher skill and strategically more advanced than I. I keep seeing these comments about how plat players are still trash tier and I don't think that is fair.

The Plat 3 Wukong I faced was clearly out of my current skill level and, despite my best efforts, I was hardly able to struggle to keep at his level. Don't downgrade the skill and capabilities of a player in Plat. Sure, compared to my waifu SKT Faker, that plat player is a bronze piece of boosted shit but compared to my bronze boosted ass, he is a Faker to me.

TL; DR I really don't see the logic of calling platinum (or even high gold) players bad. Evidently, they're at a level that most players, myself included, could probably only dream of getting to.

Reminder: "Bad" is subjective.

Statistically plat players are "not bad", but that doesn't mean they are "bad" at things they don't play. Or even take game knowledge into account, some plat players are "bad" with game knowledge but got there using mechanics, while some others (like me) are the opposite as they have shit mechanics but not at all bad game knowledge.

So for example, a gold support main can still call a plat player "bad" because maybe that plat player doesn't play support at all.

not going to lie if I ever reach plat I am going to be a cocky mother fucker. The joke is though... deep down I would know I still have a ton to learn I would just think it funny to talk shit and then do some bronze level play right after.

God I want to be plat 5 so bad just to keep the "plat 5 toxic trash" stereotype alive.

Maybe all plat players really aren't toxic but just really sarcastic and we have been misreading them this entire time?

I got massively downvoted by low elo players because i said the resolve tree was broken when it came out. Shit a lot more people catching on now.

I think a big part of the problem is that players are called bad just for having a bad game. Yes I sucked in this particular game, but it's usually not like this.

This is especially true when I try to play anyone other than my mains. I'm still in the same ELO, but I can't play this champ nearly as well. I'm gonna be bad for my rank; it's the truth.

I don't think you should be able to degrade people above you, or even above the 50 percentile.

Unless they're evidently boosted

Really my issue with high ranked players is when they are smug instead of helpful.
