Riot don't give up on Dominion :(

I almost never take the time to post to the boards. I've been playing since season 1 and I do love this game. I'd appreciate some red input. I LOVED dominion. I played the hell out of it for the first few months it was out. I would STILL play the hell out of it. The problem wasn't that I didn't like the game mode. The problem was that YOU RIOT, never bothered with it. Here's a few more reasons why dominion player base dropped and I can tell you its not because people didn't enjoy the game mode. I know for myself anyway that I'd still be playing dominion all the time if it wasn't for these main issues.

Lack of balancing, updates, new items, ANYTHING.

Afks. Frequent afks. With the new checks in place in champ select in ranked it wouldn't be too hard to implement something similar to make sure everyone is actually connected. That would help.

Bots. Bots everywhere. The fact that this has been an issue for such a long period of time just goes to show how little effort you actually put into it. If this happened on summoners rift it would've killed the player base with the entire game itself. What do you expect? People can't get a straight game most of the time of course people are gonna go play a different game mode where they don't have to do deal with it.

The crystal scar itself and dominion are both great additions to the game. I really don't mean to be coming off as attacking you guys at Riot because I really do love this game but the fact that you are gonna completely remove something you deem a failure because YOU didn't put the effort in, to promote it, take care of, or fix any of the issues which drove the players away just really doesn't sit well with me and most of the players that did and/or do love it.

Please reconsider.

Unfortunately Riot will not hear out pleas to resurrect the game mode, they are scuttling it and moving on like it aint no thang. R.I.P Dominion

I can understand both sides of this situation, like why we should keep it and why Riot wants to get rid of it. I normally wouldn't care if they get rid of it since I rarely played it...in fact I only have like 9 wins I think in it but the main reason why I want it to stay is because I just hate when games removes content from the game, it reminds me of a certain mmo that I recently quit due to them constantly removing content until they'res basically nothing left to do.

Like you and a lot of other people suggested, if they removed it but put up the featured game modes and have it rotate out every few weeks then I would be all for it and I'm sure a lot of people also would...Because everyone misses playing those game modes and it's always nice to just have a mode that is all for fun and relax after getting tired of SR. It would also get rid of all these people asking for URF to become a perm game mode since we would actually get it more than 1 time a year, and would be cool to hopefully play some more Doom Bots...I thought that was a really cool mode...that and Nemesis was fun.

As for the people who were asking for it to remain in customs, I believe it was a no because of the amount of money/effort it would take to have each new character/item work with capturing the points or the buffs on the map. I've never played the Hide and Seek that people were talking about but if the only thing they need for it was just the short map with a lot of bushes...Why don't Riot just disable the points and buffs and just keep the map itself for customs. It can just be used for Hide and Seek and maybe like a death match type of feel, and then everyone would be happy (I think..).

But anyways...Riot better have some really good improvements or whatever when this gets removed because a lot of people are mad as hell because of this. If Riot wanted to remove it to better focus and improve SR or the game in general, it would need to be by a noticeable amount or in the end this would just look like a greedy move to save money without any positive outcome.

tbh i never was a fan of dominion i'm surprised any other game mode outside of the rift even lasted this long. I don't know many people who play them at all. And i do mean AT ALL. Most people play this game competitively and that is on the rift. Not saying you can't 3v3 or aram competitively its just most people want to play like the pros.
