Make Missions more engaging and diverse.

Right now all we have to do is, win 1 game, win 1 game in summoners rift, earn 15k gold, get 5 kills ( this adds up so you dont need to get 5 kills in one game but you can get 1 kill per game for 5 games) There is no challenge in missions at all, everyone can solve them so easy , especially that they are available in co-op vs ai. Make missions harder to solve, make people who solve missions feel some sort of achievement. Right now they are just solving themselves without you even doing anything but normally playing like they are not there.

Exactly, how is that considered a mission lol :D

People need to understand that what we have now are NOT the full, legit missions. The current ones are only for the VS event going on, whereas the actual missions will be coming in a later patch.

Yup. This is basically the live-test for the system to work out issues and fine tune things.

That's part of the idea. They aren't supposed to affect gameplay. They're so people have little achievements to fulfill for the day. Y'know... fun.

What is the point of the mission if they dont affect gameplay? Why even call them "missions"then ?

LostFr0st2 votes

The point of missions was to answer the demand people had for a type of daily feeling of completion and progression if they don't ranked (and even if they do ranked tbh).

What else would they call them? I think "missions" is fine.

Mission is something specific you need to do in order to complete it,not just play and watch them complete themselves, the state they are in right now,you dont even need to read them and they will eventually complete themselves.

What feel of completion do i have when my missions are solving themselves? I am not completing them i am just playing the game as i did before. How is win 1 game a mission? Ofc i am going to win 1 game eventually and ia have 20 hours to do it. They are designed so you cant lose, they are going to be complete as long as you just play. Imagine playing Skyrim and missions is to kill one enemy , doesent matter which one and you complete it,and next one is to walk 100 meters in any direction and so on. What kind of missions are that?

They are designed in a way that,if you find someone who wants to do a mission in your ranked,it won't affect the way it will go just because "wait, don't finish,we have to get to 10k minions for my mission". As they already said, the ones avalaible now are just for the event and are more of a "prizes without RP" kind of thing, like the icons for playing poro king during snowdown, and may even be used as practice to see how people will react to "doing missions while palaying the game" and to see what missions can be made without giving a "legit" way for people to troll in rankeds and such.

If you want real challenging missions, give'em to yourself "I must try to survive this match, let's see if i can finish dying less than 5 times". If you can, good for you, you're doing something great. If not,you can improve trying to re-do that.

TL;DR Missions aren't as important as you think. You want RPG-like missions.

I get your logic, but any meaningful mission is always going to affect the play of the game,i dont see anything wrong with missions affecting game aslong as they make them for non ranked only. If reward is good for killing 10k minions i would rather take that risk. I see the problem here but if they really wanted to give us missions they should give us missions that have some meaning instead of just placeholders for free tokens in this case. I find it rather interesting to complete some more complex missions for good reward.

Also i want to feel some sort of achievement when i finish my mission,i dont feel any achievement when i win co-op vs ai game on beginner and get 10 tokens. I want to complete my missions and say "yes finally i did it!" and get my reward.

This would bring more depth into League as a game beside Ranked ladder and mastery points on your champions. They should add some tab for completed missions and give rewards for completing more and more missions or some sort of Achievement tab so everyone can see it like we have on Steam. More depth is always better.

For people that just want to climb in Ranked they are not going to be affected by these Missions or anything and only goal for them will be to play and win their games. I dont see anything wrong with this.

The wrong part is that A LOT of people wouldn't understand when to do missions and when not do. I don't remember if it was NA or EU boards, but somebody said that he had seen allied supports just going for the 5 kill mission and cost him his rankeds becuase they fed doing so. If they do the "not completable in rankeds" there will be anyway some idiot who just goes and does the mission anyway. The problem is they would do it even if Riot makes a login screen saying "MISSIONS AREN'T POSSIBLE TO COMPLETE IN RANKED DON'T RUIN PEOPLE GAMES YOU IMBECILE" and so,someone who ruins the game will always be there. So for now it's better to have these simple missions without risk, and if the project goes well they could go and do harder missions, like the "get 3 S- or more grades on Leona" even doing the no-ranked thing.

I'm not saying it's a bad idea to give harder missions (which,as they say, there are by buying the order/chaos Pass,i don't buy RP so i can't know for sure),as an old school grind-like MMORPG player i absolutely waant that feeling of reward,it's just that is better to be cautios with implementations. That's my opinion and probably is Riot's too. Or at least i hope it is.

Having them not completable in ranked would cut off an entire part of their core/dedicated playerbase that always only play ranked. They still need to be non-gameplay impacting though.

Gee, it's almost like they give us simple missions that don't take more than a single game just so we get used to the mechanic.

You have to remember that these are EVENT MISSIONS and the prizes will never be seen again, after the event ends. These missions are there to reward active players without punishing ppl who cant play 3+ games per day. As long as these missions get a bit harder when you can win something you could have any time, I am super ok with these easy missions for events.

That being said it sucks when you can't play every day.

And sucks even more when Windows 10 decides to troll you and League no longer works.
