Shen's ult is just the first recall, painted purple, and he changes how he stands somewat. After this recall everything but his ult got changed in apperence. This seems lazy. In his splashart he looks really cool (Im assuming hes using his ult in the splashart). This is their oppurtinity to improve and update shen.... yet they aren't.

If anything I believe it is because it reads very clearly and is iconic. While it might not be as flashy as newer particles, it does what it does very well.
Also project bandwidth. Any time spent making a new ult particle is time that could be spent on something else. And when at best you are probably looking at a lateral move it is better to leave good alone and work on something else.
Arakadia1 votesAll of Shen's old abilities and old affects were clear and iconic. They did their job ok. I'd Rather have no particles for his E than nothing new for his ult. His ult is like Mundo's E/W the one with the fire ball. That was some random particle they made that matched the title: Burning Agony. Yeah it works, but its old and this is Shen's rework, this is when he should get updated. Their spending their time on Shen, so they should finish him completely, not leave bits and peices. It works, but it could be better. This is the time to do it, not after his update.
