So my friend told me about ap ashe recently, at first i was like "right" since ashe barely scales with ap , only on her r and w , i was guessing it woudnt be viable

so is there anyone who played ap ashe and can give his opinion ? both reasons why its viable or not

Only her R has an AP scaling and the chances of it working successfully going pure AP without at least going hybrid is slim to none.

It's more gimmicky than other off meta builds like AP Varus or AD Malzahar and can be fun seeing your ult chunk people out.

I don't know about now, but old Ashe worked sort of. She's kind of useless besides cc and her ult is only good for trickshots unless the low hp enemy just sits alone.

Viable, no. Gimmick, yes.

Her R has a 1:1 AP ratio, and pretty much anyone with a 1:1 AP ratio "can" be built AP just for the pure damage. AP Rek'Sai was a thing because her Q had a short cooldown, no mana, and 1:1 AP ratio. People try to do the same with Ashe. However the long CD on her ult (and not having it until level 6) really doesn't make it viable.

In terms of Ashe as Support though; she has good vision options which means in addition to trinkets/SS you should never get caught off guard with her around, she can provide permaslow, and her R stun is a strong tool and one of the best engages around. However her base slow is reduced, but is doubled on a "Crit" hit, and Crit is a difficult stat to build for as a Support due to the high gold costs.

She can apply Liandys with an AoE on low CD.

Other items that are good despite a lack of AP scaling on her kit might be Ludens, Nashors, Lich Bane.

I would definitely aim for 45% CDR on an AP Ashe.

I played a lot of AP Ashe during URF mode and it was a lot of fun.
