Matchmaking level 30s

So, just played a game where my team had no level 30s and the other team had 2 level 30s in it. That's just unfair. I asked the two level 30s if they were grouped and they said no. One of them was playing with their kid the other was playing with a friend. So there was no reason why that team should have had two level 30s in it and we had no level 30s in our team. Naturally we were beaten by the team with two level 30s because they immediately had a team with ultimately better stats. The other members on their team were all in their 20s same as our team. So we got no level 30s and had to match up against a team with two level 30s (one of them claiming to be a gold) and their team members they were grouped with were all level 20 plus.

DOES ANYBODY ELSE SEE THE PROBLEM HERE?????

Geez, for a company that holds multi million dollar events you'd think this kind of thing would have already been sorted out with the match making system.

Hire me, I actually do scripting for game development. No, seriously. I'm working on an MMo for a company that's paying me 2.5k a week. I can fix the issue in one day. Just give me the matchmaking script and I'll fix it in no time flat. If yall ain't already got it fixed then that says a load about the guys you got working for you now. Hate to talk smack about fellows but come on guys. It's not rocket science, it's match making.

Like seriously it's simple.

Run a check on the player levels. When you collect the teams just do a check and split the difference evenly with the level 30s. It's not hard. I can visually script that in my head in like every language I know without even looking at a computer screen. I'm just baffled that yall didn't do that when you wrote the match making scripts. That's the kind of thing that would have been in my immediate structure. Leveling out the level difference... right? I mean, even someone that doesn't know how to write cpp, php, etc would have thought, "Hey, let's evenly divide them there level 30s so people have more entertaining matches."

This falls in the category of herpa derp. Yep, this is a herpa derp issue.

(I'm completely 110% for real. Hire me and I'll fix it. Doesn't matter what language you're using. I probably know it or can figure it out. I'll contract it. Just let me know. It's that stupid of an issue with your matchmaking system.)

Is it cpp? papyrus? Seriously... I can't believe that I even have to make this post.

You're matched based on mmr, which is significantly more important than the handful of stats someone has over you due to runes/masteries. A relatively good level 20 will poop on a relatively bad level 30 despite the minor stat differences, and matching based on mmr instead of level just ensures everyone is in theory roughly equally good at pooping.

I can pretty much guarantee that I could utterly dominate legitimate fresh level 30's on a fresh level 1 account using nothing but one of the free champs available (by virtue of the game knowledge/skill I have as someone mid plat). Really, tiny stat differences mean very very little compared to skill differences, and it's only in plat+ (or even diamond+) where the handful of stats is going to decide anything, since it's only at that point players are getting to the point where they've more or less mastered their respective champions. Until then, it's not who has more stats, it's simply who is better at their champion.

MMR is far from a perfect indicator of who is better, but it's a much better indicator than ones account level.

Not from my experience with the game. Level 30s have better stats and more experience. No team, no match, ever, should have two level 30s versus an entire team of level 20s. Period. Everything else you said was irrelevant.

The mere fact that one team had 2 level 30s and the other team had none... yea, that's all it took. That's all it ever takes. It's always the same crap anytime that happens. Only reason I complained was cause it wasn't the first time it's happened. Yea, I always look at the levels at the end of any match and yea, it always tells the story. Nuff said. Bad match making, stupid even, and yet you defend it? Get the f outta here fanboy.

You'd be in for a pretty rough surprise when you get to level 30 then and discover yourself getting stomped by the occasional sub 30 and a whole host of other level 30's who are all simply better than you, when you seem to feel that you'd be able to stomp sub-30's due to the stat advantage.

It's a low elo mentality to blame things other than ones own skill. Sub-30's (and even fresh 30's) come in a massive range of how much game experience they have, and in particular how much relevant experience they have. If someone plays nothing but bot games up to level 30 (and some people do), they're going to be complete and utter trash in an actual PvP environment. If on the other hand someone starts playing mainly pvp at level 10, by the time they're level 30 they will inevitably be better than most fresh level 30's, and for that matter by the time they're even level 20 they'd probably give fresh 30's a good run for their money if the 30's played more bots/aram before diving into SR pvp.

Bronze/silver and even gold players spend a rather large amount of time raging about OP champions and feeding teammates and various other factors outside their control, meanwhile once you get up to pro player level, whenever anything goes wrong it tends to be 'haha I'm boosted', blaming themselves for whatever happened. It just goes to show how a rather significant part of climbing (in pretty much any game, but particularly multiplayer ones) comes down to attitude, not necessarily inherent mechanical skill.

Meh forget it. Match making is just too imbalanced in this game. Was fun for a bit. Killed some time, so I can't really hate on it. Uninstalled and moving on. Don't know what all the fuss is about. Game gets kinda repetitive after a bit and then it moves into being severely imbalanced. Have fun everyone. Ignore this thread.

To the devs:

Game feels like an alpha when I factor in the level balancing. Could be great but it's just missing the mark over these level 30s being thrown in the mix of lower ranked matches. That along with things like you not having pre-lane selection for match making, along with some of the meta classes being over powered and nobody noticing it, kind of causes it to lack in-depth thought and innovation.

Overall, it kinda left a bad taste in my mouth but I play games for fun. This isn't fun anymore for me so just gonna go ahead and mark it up to not being in my niche. I'm more an MMo shooter fan anyhow. On a grading scale I'd have to give you a 7. So not bad but the issue of level 30s being matched with other newer players needs addressed. You are making it... so I doubt you give a sh it.

Won't be checking back. Good luck.
