Shield Change Proposal: Stacking by Duration
Currently, shields stack by intensity. If you don't know what the difference is between stacking by duration vs intensity here's an example: A 1 second, 100 damage shield is applied. At 0.5 sec, a 1 second 200 damage shield is applied. Shielding that stacks by intensity (current): The overall shielding value is 100 for 0.5 sec, 300 for 0.5 sec, and finally 200 for 0.5 sec. Shielding that stacks by duration (proposed): 100 for 0.5 sec, 200 for 1 sec, 100 for 0.5 sec.
How would this change help?
- It would reduce the effectiveness of just throwing all your shields on at once, and instead reward reactive shielding as damage is being dealt. This allows assassin champions to not require as high of a burst in order to kill carries.
- It would help distinguish heals and shields in more situations. Heals will be valued higher for low health targets, while shields will be valued higher for full health targets.
