Support and the lane they belong

So with the current Singed support hate going on, I was wondering why someone who queued up as support is required to go to the bottom lane. Riot has always said that they don't enforce the meta, and if someone in champ select clearly writes something like "supporting mid" why should the get banned? They gave information to their team as to how they are going to play, and the team has time to adapt their strategy. Sure, they might not like it, but chances are that they will only play 1 game with the guy, so it doesn't seem like a big deal anyway.

There is no hate for Singed Support going on.

He's basically Volibear which can also work as Support.

The Champion this player picked is irrelevant to why he was banned.

From the sounds of it, while they do not enforce the meta. They sort of do because everyone will expect you to go bottom, and not doing so will make for a negative atmosphere. So as the support, you need to bend to what the team wants if you don't convince them. AKA Riot doesn't enforce the meta, but we do. Riot just will punish you for negatively affecting enough games with your unusual playstyle. EDIT: Even though there is no real time to convince the team of your playstyle in the Champion Select Time allotted. So if you're queuing alone, follow the meta. If you're queueing with a team, more power to you.

Because declaring your intention to spend the game taking your jungler's farm when you are not the jungler and only coming to lane to take farm when the laner has been pushed out or killed in the 4v5 you created does not make it a "strategy" nor does it excuse falsely reporting your teammates for intentional feeding in an attempt to get their accounts banned as petty revenge.

riot doesnt actually require you to go to bottom lane. the top mid bottom jungle support diagram that they've provided is just the default plan that all players are familiar with from the LCS. nothing in any of the league rules says you cant roam or go to another lane entirely.

the issue with doing that is that you cant just do it. you have to tell your team that you're going to do it and then let them respond and based on their reactions you might have to reconsider or explain more. your plan has to be their plan. if you go into the game with your own plan that differs from the teams plan several times in a row and start to create a chain of events where you're always getting reported for forcing your plan on your allies then you'll be slapped on the wrists when someone who has the deciding vote on your ban says yes.

in other words it's just easier to go bottom because no one wants to try anything new and as the only player without a lane you will always need to be where the other support player is.

support isnt bottom #2 it's the unassigned lane.
