Autofill Sucks

The amount of games I've potentially lost because of this creative system is beyond measure, never understood how waiting couple more minutes in queue for your preferred role could be worse than getting autofilled with roles you're not familiar with and potentially losing the game, ESPECIALLY if you're a onetrick. But then again, I never really played ranked before s7 so I wouldn't know the status of ranked queues back then.

Anyhow, here's a tiny example of this:

I get into a draft game, I get jungle, I hover MasterYi, someone dodges. I get into champ select again, I hover MasterYi, someone dodges. Third time I get SUPPORT, I however MasterYi but hilariously enough no one dodges. :D

Ofc the game was a stomp in enemy team's favor and the ADC blamed me so I told him to blame Riot instead. Luckily it was a flex game that I gave no rat's ass about. Whenever this happens in soloQ I just ask for a role swap or dodge, regardless of LP loss, so if this is Riot's way of forcing people into the Support role it ain't working, and it never will.

Hopefully autofill will no longer be a thing by season 8.

The obvious solution here is to learn the game, not a single role. It will benefit you greatly even in your main role.

Autofill in general isn't much of an issue, what I refuse is autofilling as support. I refuse to set back in the backline and shield/peel for the "carry"; I am too manly for that.

People that think that's what Supporting is are consistently shown to not know how to Support well; a Supp acting like that will get bullied out of lane and be a crutch for his team.

There are many extremely aggressive Supports. You're just like every other laner except you don't have to pay attention to CS'ing 99% of the time.

but can you answer me who play support then?

riot totaly can let you only fill in your primary/secondary positio

but this will make all player's q time a double , for even triple , if you are low elo

in high elo that anothert story , theres not very much player over diamond , not to mention how many player will play support

for example a diamond 5 average q time is 3-5min

if no one play support than his q time may increase to 20min per game

not to mention ATM challenger player q time is above 10-15min

From what I've seen a LOT of people, myself included would much rather deal with those longer Q times, then get autofilled into a role they're not good at, much less hate playing, especially against someone who possibly mains that role and has a much better champ roster and is much more skilled at it.

If the Q times are a bigger problems in the higher levels where less people are playing, then maybe just make it forced on those levels. Down here in Plastic 5 there are plenty of people able and willing to play even the more unpopular roles. Just stop trying to force people into it.

If you don't want to play support but are assigned to, dodge by yourself.

No no no, what the "kewl kids" do is select the trolliest combo of champ and summoners they can think of and act like big asshats in chat. This will cause other people to follow until it becomes a game of "chicken" to see who caves first and takes the dodge penalty instead of the guaranteed loss.

seasons 1 through 5 everyone had to deal with the exact same thing much more often because there was no role selector and the matchmaker couldn't even try to avoid autofilling players. season 6 it was exactly the same for low elo and high elo players because autofill needed to be implemented to get games off the ground, and it saved the queues something more like 10-15 minutes of wait time instead of 2 while also improving the tightness of MMR matching by leaps and bounds.
