To all the Mid lane Mages that ask for Blue Buff

NLGG3R BEATER··5 votes·4,686 views

Please stop, I don't care if high Korean elo/LCS junglers are usually inclined to give their buffs to their laners, I don't care whether you're 10-0 or 0-10 in lane, I don't care if you think the buff is really beneficial for your champ, and I certainly don't care whether you spam assist pings/ask politely for it/threaten to leave the game if you didn't get it. You'll never get it in my games no matter what.

As a MasterYi player I cannot afford to give away this much xp and gold +wasting precious time helping a guy get the buff who would likely give it away 2 seconds after he gets to lane. Besides I do need the buff for myself to farm more effectively/take objectives faster/splitpush more smoothly.

If a Mid lane Syndra doesn't miss 70% of her spells trying to poke the enemy Fizz she probably wouldn't need a blue buff in the first place. However if your champ mana-heavy when it comes to wave-clearing consider getting a RoA/tear - it's your issue not mine.

reason why I reached the point of wanting to post this on the boards is certain Twisted Fate who sneaked into my jungle without saying a word in a desperate attempt to last hit the buff forcing me to smite it away then flash my mastery lvl 7, dude proceeded to ult into enemy t2 Top lane tower getting himself killed then immediately left the game. This shits is getting annoying and HAS to stop.

Thanks for your time!

NOTE: had to repost this because of its urgent importance

As a great junglerer I know when to give and when not to give blue/red buff (yes I actually give my red, too). Becase I am the god of early invades I have more buffs and more xp than the enemy will have so I don't see the problem in giving my blue to the mid. I main Rek'Sai a no resource champ. And I don't really want this Blue buff for the 10% cdr when I know someone can have better use of it. As a great junglerer I have never been asked to give blue. I am the one who would spam pings so the midlaner come. Come in the highter devisions and there you will see that there is no use of being selfish. I farm in the jungle. I am not fighting anyone. I don't need to look for my mana. If something happen I can escape. It is more likely for the midlaner to go 1v2 than the junglerer.

You should stop crying about that. This midlaners have point. And learn something else than Xin and Yi. If you want to be an jung main you need to adapt.

I saw that one coming, but since you bothered checking my account let me clear some facts to you:

  1. This acount is almost fresh 30, spend most of my IP on rune setups/pages so I don't have much left for other champs yet.
  2. There's nothing wrong with exclusively playing these 2 champs up to diamond 1 elo as that where they stop being effective at all.
  3. Cowsep stated it's never beneficial to give away your buffs to any laners in soloQ as they'll less likely use it to its fullest potential unless in Korea as ppl there could legitimately quit if you refuse to give it away.

Not even gonna bother asking about your elo as I would take cowsep's word (an ex challenger) over the word of a great "junglerer" like yourself any day :D

Ok, then take Cowsep's word/example and give your Blue Buff to your Mid Laner.

If people are going to quit the game because of a buff then idc, free lane farm for me is always gud. And honestly I know I can use the buff (specifically the mana regen portion) to its fullest potential as I have mentioned in the OP so there's no reason to give it away - it's not like he (the midlaner) is the one going to carry anyway.

As an auto attack reliant Jungler locked in PvE, you can not use the buff to it's full potential. It's physically impossible for your role and champion to do so.

You having Blue Buff does not significantly impact your clear speed, nor does it help you get poke damage in on the enemy team, nor does it help you get a minion wave in a better position for a roam/gank.

You're squandering the Blue Buff, maybe utilizing it to 10-20% of it's potential.

Perhaps you misunderstood the point, I'm talking about the PLAYER not the CHAMPIONS. Sure, most mana dependent mid laners CAN utilize a blue buff more effectively than MasterYi ever could but that doesn't mean they would.

What if the Mid laner takes the buff then goes straight to lane and feeds a kill? Or what if he/she recalls after taking it then spending too much time attempting ineffective top/bot lane roams and most of the buff's duration is wasted? Just because a laner is 3-0 doesn't mean they know what they're doing, enemy laner could just be shittier than they are. These are the 2 scenarios I could think of atm.

With Yi I'm ALWAYS doing something with it, if I'm just afk farming I'll be doing it much healthier and smoother with the Q spam, if I'm soloing rift herald/drake spamming Q can speed the process a bit. MOST IMPORTANTLY,I might not be able to splitpush effectively at all without the buff, my only waveclearing ability costs like 1/4 of my mana bar and I'll be using it each couple of seconds with the AA reset.

So yes, utilizing it to 10-20% of its potential is better than not utilizing it at all in the aforementioned scenarios imo.

If it's dependent on the player, why say you'll never give it to them? Why not judge how your ally is playing instead?

If you don't trust allies to use it right then by extension you shouldn't fear the enemy using it right, because your enemies will be as competent as your allies overall. That would mean at worse it's as if you never took the Blue Buff, a trivial set back for someone like Yi.

Basically you're more consistently losing a potential advantage by never giving Mid Blue Buff than you are gaining an advantage. I recommend trying them with one buff, seeing what they can do with it. After that do as you please.

A blue buff gives 100g which is almost the same amount of gold as an initial lane wave plus a handsome amount of experience (especially in early game). Why would I gave a wave worth of gold to a guy I don't even know who's much likely to be useless? As mentioned in a different post most mid laners in my elo range are noobs when it comes to map awareness, vision and matchup knowledge - there's a reason why I don't trust them by default.

Sure, if I'm duoing with a mid laner or a got matched with a dia+ smurf I wouldn't mind donating it but that's very rare. However if I'm cheesing and completely skipped jugle item for zeal > IE rush I would not give it away no matter what - I cant.

Its a pretty silver mentality to decide anything going on with your mid lane is solely a "mid laners problem" but you do you.

NLGG3R BEATER1 votes

I'm the one who decides who's getting the buffs strictly because I'm the one with the summoner spell "Smite". If you have taken smite as a mid laner and/or have a spell that outdamages it then feel free to contest it or steal it when I'm respawning/on the opposite side of the map - I won't retaliate.

However I'm not giving it you - because I can. Period.

i really hope you don't take minions then, nor do you take towers, nor do you take the kill when the enemy champion is in the lane. You should hope to have a higher number if assists than kills then, cuz i mean.. following your logic :)

I meant literally take the tower (lol almost like a ks xD) but you see my point? After a certain point in the game the blue buff generally goes to the midlaner/the most mana reliant carry as they generally will make the most use of the buff just for the strategic advantage it allows for. The blue buff gives mana regen, very few mage items give magic regen stats, they generally just have flat mana or require u to be damaged. I'm not saying the blue buff should always be given away, but after a certain point another laner generally makes more use of this buff. in regards to the gold and exp most laners will allow you to tax a lane (to a reasonable extent) after a gank (usually has to be successful in some way for the taxing to be a large tax [e.g. killing the laner, or to push the minion under turret] so that minimizes (the already minimal loss in exp (providing u were in the proximity of the buff) the loss in exp

Okay, bub?

I play one of the most mana-intensive junglers in the game, Cho'gath, and I still donate all blue buffs after the first to my midlaner (context dependent, it it's a Yasuo or energy user I'll keep it for myself because they don't really need it). As a jungler, red buff is a much more useful tool for the jobs I need to do and with the mana changes to jungle items blue buff is less necessary for sustain after your first clear, so giving it to your midlaner creates a free advantage for them that they can use to snowball their lane. Blue buff is so much less important in the jungle than it is in lane because as a general rule the jungler isn't going to be engaged in a protracted mana-intensive poke war with the opposing jungler, whereas your mid laner is doing that and can gain a major upper hand from increased mana regen and CDR. Yes, if your midlaner is feeding it's not a good idea to give it to them, but that's context dependent.

Seriously, the whole solo carry mentality is toxic to the game and I've seen it lose more games than it's won, I can't count the number of times I've seen that one guy decide he has to be the carry and throw the game because he won't work with his team.

Basically my life. Laners are entitled self righteous cucks.

You misspelled junglers.

Maligaro Spike3 votes

I kinda get that some junglers would like to get their 2nd blue but with the mana regen buff on jungle items it's not like you're put incredibly behind giving it to your midlaner

RogueWill1 votes

Have you ever played a heavy AP mana hungry tank champion the the jungle? If you don't have the blue buff your clears are heavily hindered. try playing a Nautilus jungle game where you give away your second blue buff onward, you will see that your HP might stay fairly high but you will be forced to deplete your mana bar (and thus won't be able to gank) or straight up take 50% more time to kill the camp

Chimp Joker3 votes

....."Wouldnt need blue buff in the first place"....Seriously? Syndra's such a mana hungry champ all game long, especially right after Riot makes D Ring's passive unique.

It's a team game, fam. If your mid laner loses, so will you.

NLGG3R BEATER1 votes

Hah, I beg to differ. If the mid laner is the only one hard feeding (up to 0-10) and other laners are even while I'm ahead then game is winnable. As long as the feeding mid laner doesn't go afk and throws in his cc abilites in teamfights.

can u just be quiet lmao nobody likes stuck up selfish junglers such as yourself

I main Brand and Kassadin. I need blue way more than pretty much any jungler, and without it I get pushed in, dove, and lose lane.

But I never get it, so I just go take the enemy jungler's

So basically you just assume 100% of your mid lanes are terrible.

..except wouldn't that mean you want to give them help?

But instead you purposely hinder them?

Just doesn't make sense.

NLGG3R BEATER1 votes

yes, from almost a season worth of experience in silver 2 - gold 3 elo range 90% of mid laners I get are straight up noobs (when it comes to map awareness, matchup knowledge and vision), both allied and enemy laners; it's just a matter of who's worse.

and no, if they're THAT terrible you don't play around them at all, you just farm up, wreck fights midgame if enemy comp allows it or splitpush like a machine (won't be possible on MasterYi without the buff) and force 1v2s/1v3s or just straight get an inhib.

Scary Door1 votes

It's cool, I just take it anyway regardless of whether or not you give 'permission'

NLGG3R BEATER1 votes

Good luck outdamaging my smite. Or you could try to "steal" it when I'm not around but who's to say I wouldn't tax a whole wave in your lane?

Scary Door3 votes

You're welcome to try, but good luck taking a wave from a Brand with blue buff.

I take the enemy junglers blue all the time also so you can whatever you like. Chances are with your attitude you're relying on me to carry you anyway, so that's fine.

I might countertax you by taking your wolves, raptors, red, krugs :).

Your move hot shot.

lol this is stupid you should let mid laners have it when it's necessary and it's your job to figure out when that is. Looks like you don't know, I think I can guess your tier lol

oke ima say this and only dis wut if u as the jungler den feed the oppenents team and even if u dont allowing ur carry to get blue or red also allows them to get cs in order to buy items i cant tell u how many times the 100 from a buff practically turned me from 1/4/2 to 16/4/7 but as u said earlier the laner might feed in which case make a judgment call all im saying if u know they cpuld carry let them carry if u know it could win them lane let them win lane cus u dpnt win from jg u win with lanes and carry (actually i guess baron is part of the jungle but u get wut i mean)
