The ranked system is easy to abuse in the lower leagues.

Hello everyone, i posted this on the EU boards aswell, but i would like some feedback from you guys. =)

So i was spectating one of my friends who was playing as a 5 man premade against another 5 man premade in ranked, and i noticed the enemy team was ranging from silver 5 to gold 2, the gold 2 was previously platinum and a silver 4 guy was previously bronze 3. Is it just me who thinks that its kinda silly that people who are gold 1 can play with silver 5's? Its almost 2 leagues difference. I like it more in diamond, where there can only be a 3 division difference between premades. This was done to prevent masters+ from getting easy lp by playing with diamond 5's, but is this not a problem in all the other leagues? Not only does the highest ranked guy face alot lower ranked players, which makes it easier for him (while it might affect his mmr if he loses alot, it should be fairly easy to win most games), and it also makes it alot easier for the lower ranked guys to climb due to being carried.

These are the 2 teams, the one at the bottom is my friend's. https://gyazo.com/e13214a1da6f499b5398a0abda67e241

Edit: This is a personal opinion, but i think its a little too easy to get placed high when you first head into ranked. There is a decent chance that you get lucky and can be placed in gold, which seems unfair to the people who actually worked hard to get there. To me it would make alot more sense if new players were placed in silver 5, and then had to climb on their own, as i dont think 10 games that can place you between bronze 5 and gold 1 valuates your skill accurately. On the other hand it would make it take longer for smurfs to climb, which is a downside i guess. Any thoughts on this?

You can't be placed in gold if you never played ranked before, expect if you're playing with high gold players for you placements and win all 10. And even than, if you can hang against high gold, it mean you belong in gold anyways.

Thats not true, you can be placed in gold only by winning 7-8 games, its actually not that hard. And i dont see how 10 games can give you an accurate representation of your skill, there is a fairly decent chance that you can get lucky and just get placed in gold for the rewards even if you might not be gold level. Also if you win 10 games you are placed in gold 2/1.

On a fresh lvl 30 account that has never played ranked that is not possible. I've won 10 out of 10 on many smurf, and the highest I've placed was gold V in solo q, and that was duoing with some gold 1 friends who needed help get into plat.

Cowsep playing duoq on a fresh account, 10-0 platinum 5.

You are wrong, its fairly easy to get in gold, you can be placed there with 7-8 wins, i have done it myself too. Maybe the guy you duo'ed with had bad mmr, or they placed you lower since you duo'ed with him, i dont know.

Edit: had to change the 2 first links since they dont work on the boards for whatever reason, you can still copy and paste it into youtube to watch it.
