Viktors E change will completely gut him
Watch for yourself, the bot even stops up to aa before it runs away, and it still dodges it and it is running in a STRAIGHT LINE. Riot PLEASE do not ruin Viktor.

Remember when Viktor was an underrated niche pick and nobody even knew he existed? Those were fun times.
The good old days...
Good ol' Pen build Vik and the Death Ray DoT
Ah, those days were glorious. Glorious... GLORIOUS..
GLORIOUS EVOLUTION!
Ok that disgusts me.
I suspect sub-30% winrate once Midseason Update goes live.
.... that delay... http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view2/1695197/liar-liar-throw-up-o.gif
I thought they changed his kit to make it less clunky... this is just... what the heck rito?
I thought people were just whining for the sake of whining but holy hell, that delay looks awful.
That looks freaking awful, I hope to God those changes don't go through.
But the delay on
W is completely fine.....
at least you can hit your entire combo if you land your knockup, and velkoz will do a disgusting amount of truedamage in the future, so i dont think you have to worry about him.
Are you comparing a 0.25 second delay to a 1.25 second delay?
not to mention the hitbox on vel koz w is about 5 times wider
The are both delayed long enough for you to avoid. The only exception is that Vik's CC is much better to make sure it hits.
Instant knock up helps less than delayed stun with hitting a delayed spell... how exactly?
you're forgetting vel'koz can cast this ability twice in a row and has 2 other skill shots that have good range and high damage. Viktor has 1 skillshot that does damage. His Q is targeted and has short range and his W is a slow/stun but the stun part rarely happens.
Wait, it's only 0.25? I swear it feels at least 0.5!
The delay on W is absolutely essential to keep Vel's passive any sort of balanced, since it can double-proc it.
As much as I would like to agree - think of the team play buff this gives as well as the increase in damage should you land a stun. It gives you 30% more damage than it had previously.
The stun is easely avoidable, its more of a zoningtool. It takes a while to stun, and if you have qss it wont matter. Yes over all his E might deal more damage, but it wont matter since you literally wont be able to hit anyone with the 2nd part unless they 1: DC, or 2: Are minions. Actually if the minions keep walking they would probaly dodge it too.
This.

So in a team fight you think that everyone on the enemy team will have QSS and be able to get out of every CC your team has? This change is just making him more useful in team fights and less so as a solo fighter. Have you tried Rylais on him to see if that makes much difference when landing the second wave of the lazer?
unfortunately rlyais isnt enough. As long as the enemy keeps walking it is unlikely to hit even with rylais which I had hoped initially.

I've got like 200 games on Viktor. His stun is extremely situational, you only really get it off against targets who are diving you or with additional allied CC. It's mostly a zoning tool.
Go into a game. Pick Veigar. Don't level up your cage. Count how many times you landed your Dark Matter on anyone.
That's how it's going to be when playing Viktor. Except much, much worse, because a.) his stun field can be walked or dashed out from (and every AP champion will have access to a dash with a new item) and b.) his ultimate DoT is delayed even longer.

Thats not the same at all. Viktors stun is comparable to Veigars as if you don't get it right on the enemy can walk around within it and avoid your Dark Matter. I really don't see this rework as a nerf. It's a damage buff that takes more skill or better timing to land a DOUBLE of the damage.
It's a change that as of now seems like it'll be a nerf. It's too situational for it to be a buff. If they really want him to be a teamfight oriented apc instead of a burst mage like he is now, it's gonna take more than just making him clunky when solo.

This change also increases his wave clear capability.. so he can hold lane easier when solo.
I'm not sure there's a point in increasing waveclear of a champion who already clears waves easily. Maybe if they decreased the mana of it, then sure, he'd not get punished for clearing waves as much, then you could argue his waveclear's better.
It's very clear that they built him around his Stun, the worst skill in his kit, which he now has to land if he wants to do any damage.
almost as easy to dodge as a veigar W. if this goes through his winrate might actually go to like 38%.

Veigar's W doesn't deal damage twice though, it's a single ability that drops down with a delay while Viktor has a laser that isn't telegraphed. Maybe this is a sign saying that people should augment Q before E.
Oh wah, you can't one shot people with your E anymore, and now you actually have to put in effort to win. Oh poor you, so put out.
I dont think your E was ever able to oneshot anyone unless you were afk for 80% of the game, and at least 8-10 levels lower :) Also you could avoid it before, with these changes even a bot can just run in straight line, even after stopping up to aa, and still get out unscaled.
tbh, it was almost able to one shot. Sort of why riot is doing these changes is because he does too much damage too fast too easily.
Maybe it could do half hp if you were quite fed, either with kills or like 200 cs at 20 min. But most champs can burst if thats the case.

Eh, Viktor's E routinely does ~60-70% of an ADC's health once he finishes Luden's.
The thing is that it's not particularly hard to avoid and MR items exist.
the initial q did 270(+0.7 ap) and the after shock was 230(+.7ap). Granted the aftershock has a 40percent damage reduction when hit by the initial q, but you're still talking about 1k damage here on a basic ability that's once again pretty to use and has a short cd.
it's not supposed to hit on it's own now, but as followup on his W or allied cc, with more impact therefor while his Q has been buffed aswell. And in teamfights it still often can hit without cc as people have issue paying atention to it in a 5v5.
A slight delay is fine. Keyword being slight. A 1 second delay maximum, and that is a nice rounded number I think would work honestly. But this? This is far too long. Who in the hell is going to be hit by the aftershock?

Why even change it?
It's completely fine right now.
There has to be a line between you will sometimes get hit by it, and you will usually get hit by it. That's probably why they are changing it. But that being said, it is currently fine. Riot didn't need to change the delay so extremely.
riot just admit you hate this skill and make it a true skill shot instead of a skill shot within a skill shot. (aka viktor can only shoot in straight lines away from him) just dont put that much delay on it
I feel like its a very cool, unique aswell as a very strategic skillshot though, it would be a shame if they changed it.
it would be a shame but riot doesnt have a very good track record right now on listening so was hoping atleast requesting a half way point would make them reconsider T_T
Viktor is my favorite champion, I bought him the first months I first started playing league. This.....that laser is terrible.
can I ask what did riot do to Viktor I've been kept in the dark for some while I would appreciate it
