Passive 3rd-Hit On Hits and Rageblade

How do they synergize with Rageblade? They seem to in some regard, but inefficiently because a lot of champs are every third hit, and Rageblade is every other...?? I am only concerned with every third hit, on-hit passives.

I don't think they do at all. On-hit effects, like Blade of the Ruined King, are doubled when a fully-stacked Rageblade gives you a phantom attack. But on-attack effects don't seem to be affected. For instance, even with a fully-stacked Rageblade, a Xin Zhao needs to auto attack three times, never two, in order to knock someone up. His every-third-hit healing and guaranteed reduced-damage crit will also be only every third attack, not every second. I'm mostly sure about this.

I think most 3-hit passives are stack-based. So each auto gives you 1 passive stacks and at 3 passive stacks you get the passive effect. So at maximum Guinsoo's Rageblade stacks, each auto gives you 2 passive stacks.

So normally:

AA >> AA >> Passive >> AA >> AA >> Passive

But with Guinsoos:

AA >> Passive >> Passive >> AA >> Passive >> Passive

I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure this is how it works on Diana Gnar and Vayne

Wow such a nice explanation. I 100% understand it now.

No it's just auto + passive + auto + passive... in my experience.

It only gives you an extra onhit proc every other hit, so the first auto is just 1 stack, and then the second is 2 (which procs the ability). Over and over.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't overstack (although it could...), I've built it on Diana and I've never procced my passive twice in a row.

I know it overstacks for Yi (He only takes 4 hits for his first passive proc, because afterward the doublehit instantly gives him one of the stacks)

I did some testing with this in practice mode, some champs it does nothing, but for others like TwistedFate Vayne Vi Gnar once you hit the 6 stacks the 3 hit procs come on the second shot so vaynes rings will pop on the second shot, same with TF's E passive

Why for TF E?

It takes 4 hits to proc it... ???
