You simply can't punish him unless he really messes up. He is essentially immune to poke due to it doing half damage on him, and you can't all-in him becuase he dashes away while stunning you.

The only way you beat a Pyke is to counter his engage and lock him down, which means he can just zone you all lane without committing to anything. It's basically extremely hard to get a lead against him if he knows what he's doing, making him extremely safe, while he always had insane kill potential on you.

He strips you of your agency in lane, and that's just not fun

Pyke's regen is one of the most braindead abilities i've ever seen.

"Here, regain all the HP you just lost by running out of sight"

Like wtf is this, he's rewarded for taking bad trades.

And how do you counter engage him in most situations? He's probably not committing unless he sees an r opportunity or has a way out. Every damage stat on this guy is way too much for such a safe, self-healing support.

i dont see it as a problem to be strong vs a certain play style (aka poke) and he also lack ways to disengage with his adc. he can run but if you catch the adc he cant do shit compared to say thresh. i dont also see his zoning to be strong his abilitys have deleys/channels making his zoning a lot weaker.

his play style is new and unique and thats a good thing imo
