Happens all the time to me in the new client. Reason? The insane amount of noise the new client makes. I had to turn off all sound, because there is no option to turn off "all sound except when it's my turn to click a button". I'm trying to discuss picks with my teammates on voice chat!...

Or you could look at the screen? I agree that there could be more notification, but that's more on you than the client.

Yeah, my first match on the first client I dodged unintentionally cause of this very...missing feature. To supplement this, I had to stare or rapidly alt+tab between the league window and my other business.
