What does a "macro champ" mean?

I don't think I can explain this as well as Id like but macro is button/mouse usage. While one champ like an ADC only uses a few clicks a champ like Reksai requires several making his skill cap higher.

Basically a champ that needs more knowledge (like when to do objectives, map awareness and stuff like that) than mechanics.

I'll attempt to answer. Macro champion means that a champion is very focused around the whole map, AKA assisting the whole team, taking objectives, and controlling the map. Rek sai is a great macro champion because no only does she have an in built TP but she also has -situational mobility -vision built into her kit -the ability to see over walls

If you are playing a macro champion the best way to win is to assist the whole team through roams and ganks as much as possible and try to snowball them into a lead.

Another example of a macro champion would be nunu, because he roams a lot, spends a lot of time counterjungling, objective taking, and counterganking.

P.S. macro champions are busted AF in LCS. Especially macro midlaers etc

A macro champ is a champion where the difference between the good and bad ones is expressed largely in how they play the map as a while. is the best example of this. The really good Udyrs are a constant thorn in your side, always pushing where your team has the least ability to respond and never letting themselves get caught for free. The bad Udyrs don't focus on onjectives, get sucked into dumb fights, and get caught in bad positions constantly. Bad Udyrs are annoying. Good Udyrs are infuriating.

Macro is a RTS term that in league could be translated with "Rotations", basically is the optimized and strategic movements on the map, wave manipulation and objective control, since rek'sai can create a system of tunnels and farm in no time the whole jungle, has high sustain and great utility it's defined as "macro champion" because her main strenghts are the strategic impact she has on the map.
