Can we get a "this user is experiencing lag..." notification for everyone in the game?

So that

  1. I don't have to tell my team I'm lagging.
  2. My team will believe me when I say I'm lagging.

I think it would be a very useful thing to have in the game. I also think it'll reduce flaming.

Just pointing out that this would be an invitation for the other team to camp you :/ Perhaps you'd like to reword it so that it is a notification for "everyone on the user's team"?

Yeah, thats what I meant, ha.

It could still be abused though.

You don't know how much it pisses me off when I connect 30 seconds after the monsters spawn, and my entire jungle is counter-jungled because some idiot decided to say "gg 4v5 jungler afk" in all chat.

If you're lagging but still playing well enough to hide it, you don't want your teammates saying something like "gg top lane is lagging" in all chat.

I'd report whoever said I was lagging and gave the enemy team "the win" for assisting the enemy team.. Ofc, reports don't mean anything -.- But this is a lot more beneficial than not, maybe your teammates would actually help you or even rotate?

And it is because of that bullsh!t argument that allows trolls to dictate whether or not a game is fun.

If I tell my team I'm lagging, and they don't believe me, that's their problem.

I don't need an automated program to tell them for me. Especially if I don't want it to.

Then if the person has crap internet in general, the wins would only count...

Tbh it doesn't matter if anyone believes that you're lagging.

Your mom is the reason that everyone lags in game.

Joe Dredd2 votes

You shouldn't use lag as an excuse.

SINCE PEOPLE ARE CONFUSED, say you're playing the game and you aren't lagging, and then you SUDDENLY start to lag, a notification lets your team know that you're experiencing lag. I don't mean if you're playing with lag, I mean if you suddenly begin lagging.

This will get annoying for east coast players. It's all you'll see.

If this was the first time it happen in the game then I could see something like this happening! But I don't think it should be if you know full well you lagging and continue to play 2+ games! It makes no sense that you continue to keep playing the game knowing you lag and ruining it for other players!

Atuko3 votes

I understand your point, but I think you're thinking too ahead. I'm pretty sure if someone knew they were lagging they wouldn't play more games. This is just a notification to tell people that you're having lag.

I think a cap of 200+ should benotified. And it should be to view in the option.

There is no reason a troll in our team feels like forcelagging just to spam us with the same notif' every time. But, I can see it being done.

exiledFromBadmen5 votes

No please. I play at 220-260 ping normally.

DefenderOfFaith1 votes

I think its a good idea if lag begins mid-game. If your ping remains high, perhaps this quality of life improvement you propose should also extend to preventing you from re-queing until your ping drops, both for yours and everyone else's protection.

1nconceivable1 votes

or we could have the ping appear on the scoreboard (tab) next to each team member's names. I don't think it would be a good idea to allow the enemy team to see your team's lag/ping.

Zahz1 votes

i dotn think riot could really track your lag cuz if they did it would be at the same rate as your lag

killd0zer1 votes

Actually, it used to make your ping public and they intentionally removed it.

Apparently, people don't really like having players who keep making stupid mistakes regardless of the reason, and displaying ping made people harass more or something something

I agree because home internet is a lot less stable than college internet. I'd like my team to think my mom is on amazon video rather than thinking I'm terrible at the game. Got out of a 3-8-0 ranked match with over 300 ping entire time.item 3070 item 3070 item 3070

WarCrazy1 votes

Stupid idea. You're lagging or you're not. Believe it or not. Don't start another game afterwards.

Edge of Daybreak1 votes

Wouldnt your team just ask you why you started a game while lagging?

Mankano Valara1 votes

Maybe have the threshold adjustable, as some people have adapted to high ping or are used to uber low ping, that way its relative to the player in questions standard.

Don't play ranked if you have bad internet. If you experience lag often you need to not que ranked. I really don't need an announcer constantly shouting things/or chat being flooded when someones ping is high. Upgrade/fix your internet quality.

ExecutorDill1 votes

You mean to your team alone? Or else the enemy will target the lagger.

iamthegoatofwar1 votes

Yha but uh...In ranked I kinda have a no mercy attitude unless they did the same for me at one point so I'd just own the guy.
