Cancel Iron Tier!!!

I'm probably not the first person to express this but my thoughts on the Iron Tier is that Riot should NEVER add a new lowest tier. The amount of psychological damage that falling into Iron Tier will do current Bronze players will be massive. Did Riot really not think of this? We already have jokes about Wood 5. They're effectively making that a reality and with Ranked Reset many people will be shunted down. Think about being Bronze for two seasons and suddenly you've DROPPED to the lowest rank? Yikes. I understand the need to add a feeling of progression through Ranked but this isn't it IMO. Don't dig a new pit; Build a ladder, so that the better people in Bronze climb out and the others just stay Bronze.

What do you suggest they do, then? There are way too many players sitting in Bronze and Silver as it is. They have to be broken up somehow.

Iron IV <-> Bronze V Iron III <-> Bronze IV Iron II <-> Bronze III Iron I <-> Bronze II Bronze IV <-> Bronze I Bronze III <-> Silver V Bronze II <-> Silver IV Bronze I <-> Silver III

You're not getting "demoted" to Iron. You're getting put exactly where your skill level should be on the new table. It's only a demotion if you're looking solely at names and not the tiers of play they're representing.

It's not any sort of demotion, though. Iron IV will be the same thing as Bronze V is now.

Problem is you can't insert anything between Bronze/Silver/Gold because they're a logical progression, and Bronze/Silver are what need to be broken up because that's where like 90% of ranked players are.

That just leaves making a non-shiny tier below Bronze.

Besides, climbing to Bronze kinda makes sense. Bronze is still a medal that's awarded for being better than other people.

When does Riot ever care about "psychological dmg"?

They left the bickering for roles during Blind Picks champ select (when they could've easily fix it) and things like that.. failure to bring down toxicity...

lol the day they actually care about the mental state of players...

I mean, is it really that bad for them? They were already in the lowest tier lol.

That's a good thing! So peoole will know they are not worthy of being in Bronze V. [sg-miss-fortune]

Honestly speaking, that's like one of the most impossible thing to do. I've seen Bronze players in their games, they're honestly not as smart or cunning as typical high elos. If you think you're worth higher tiers like Plat, you SHOULD be able to carry out yourself.

iron is the most common metal in the universe, and its still worth too much to reflect these players skills.

Actually i think it will be positive. Bronze will have the loading frame they have long being demanding.

Speak for yourself boo. I would absolutely love to play in Iron for the start of the new season. And I mean real Iron, not Iron with Silver MMR. If I could petition Riot to reset my MMR to the lowest possible value, I would in a heart beat. I have zero problems with the idea of playing in Iron.

IMO I don’t think the naming is really the issue to be addressed but rather the hard stuck parameter. Being in Iron Vs being in Bronze really is no different. But that fact that no matter how much someone plays and tries to get better the match maker in lower tiers is a cancer. You are completely held hostage to the teammates you’re matched up with. In lower tiers that means people who really don’t give a shit about their MMR or climbing. They play ranked just because it’s a more challenging game mode than drafts. And yes laugh and talk shit all you want I was Bronze 3 last season and am currently Iron 2, your mathematical argument is valid. However, regardless of name I still feel I’m playing with the exact same inting, trolling, or just brand spanking new don’t have a clue about the game teammates and THAT is what the problem is. I can not 1v9 carry every single game until I get out of these awful tiers and that is just fact. Every game have most kills on my team, most CS in the game and can still lose.

You are missing the point, there are many differences between a bronze 2 and a bronze 5, to compensate this difference, they added a new tier, where the game is more fair.

Hard to swallow pill: when you belong in iron.

Tough. But it’s not spit in your face tough, it’s “you’ll have to improve” tough. Bronze was WAY too saturated with people who didn’t even know what the enemy teams role/abilities were, if you get iron you belong there.

Actually it makes 90% of the playerbase feel better cause they can say "At least I'm not..." just like the Silvers and Golds can.

Rename it to Wood though please.

If anything they are making it so newer people can start to learn the game more at their pace AND climb at the same time. I was BV when I started and my friend was B2. There was such a skill difference between us it wasn’t funny. So trying to get higher was a real struggle because of the roll of the dice skill differences there were between those tiers. But now with iron people will have the opportunity to actually play at their level more of the time than they can now.

I actualyl like the idea of new leagues, it will a give a more clear difference between the leagues when the players get more spread out. Do you see any difference between silver and gold? I don't think so.
