Healing on them. Atleast make it when he kills somebody or it could be when he procs his W it heals for like 30% of dmg dealt by W.

Aatrox and Rhaast's weapons also make contact with their targets. From what I understand, they heal by absorbing the blood they spill (at least Aatrox does, maybe Rhaast does as well???) Varus just......shoots people?

an adc with more build in heals would be difficult to balance though.

If you noticed, Kayn doesn't heal off damage dealt, because he is not full Darkin. It's not until he becomes Rhaast that he gains this ability.

Thus one can assume that since Varus is not fully Varus, he cannot lifesteal.

Varus' new lore says he torments his foes to the brink of insanity before killing them, so I'm thinking popping max stack on an enemy should fear them. Of course that would be OP as hell. So Maybe his ult fears instead?

YES, Praise AP Varus!

He also has something that they don't: Range

He's an adc, so sustain is prettymuch a given between lifesteal items, supports and masteries... And seeing how much tools adc generally have for sustain if they want while generally beeing save because of her range, i think it's VERY dangerous to also include sustain in their kit.

Oh hey, you reminded me of another reason to buy Executioner's Calling as my first item.

I think this might be where they try to separate them.

IMO because of Rhaast’s healing, he feels like a much better choice than Aatrox. Both are frontline warriors that thrive in the middle of combat.

Varus on the other hand prefers to stay out of combat to kill his targets. Giving him sustain just seems overkill.

Perhaps this is one way to differentiate them. Maybe they don't want to make that pattern?

Like maybe Varus' sister doesn't need a self heal, either.

Also Varus probably doesn't need any gameplay work right now.
