Some Tips for fighting the "Big Boss"
I've been playing the Invasion Game Mode quite a bit and I've just got a few tips to offer up if anyone wants them.
The Boss's Behaviour
-
The Boss conducts a series of dashes. These dashes can be cancelled by abilities such as Janna's Q or Poppy's W. Ahri's charm will not cancel the dash, it will only change aggro to Ahri for a short time after the dash.
-
By grouping near pillars, the Boss can target the pillar itself and stun itself on it for a short time.
-
After the series of dashes, the Boss will spread projectiles around itself. These projectiles will not reach past the pit on the map, or behind pillars or other outstanding pieces of terrain (such as lampposts) on the map. These are usually sent out in waves of 2, but this can increase later during the round.
-
When the Boss is below 1/3rd of its health it will begin to send out green shockwaves, they can be dodged by being inside the circle or between the rows of the shockwaves.
How to Fight the Boss
-
As soon as the Boss spawns, you will be split up as a group. Try to get back together in one spot if possible. I'll elaborate a bit more on why in the other points.
-
Focus on clearing the champions spawned before fighting the Boss. They will be doing more damage than the Boss will.
-
Move as a group around the outside of the map. This will make the Boss target the pillars more rather than your team, and will also give you a clear place to get behind when he begins sending out projectiles. Many of the champion spawns are on the outskirts of the map as well.
-
Use the lasers the Boss emits to see where the champions are spawning. Move to these spawns as soon as you see them and try to get the champions before they can do too much damage. Primarily, you want to deal with the large Vel'Koz as soon as possible as their lasers will be difficult to dodge. The Kog'Maws are also difficult if left unattended.
-
Try not to get split up. If you separate as a group, the champions end up surrounding you giving you nowhere to go.
If anyone has any other tips feel free to let me know and I'll add them into the post.
