What if Bard's Shrines gave vision when stepped on & slowed enemies?

Hoodwink··28 votes·1,498 views

I think this would be an amazing buff and nobody would ever complain about his shrines again.

If an enemy steps on it to destroy it, vision is placed on them.

EDIT: I can see that not many people support the slow, so I removed that. It's still an option though if some people want it.

Enemies shouldn't be punished for denying shrines to the enemy.

To be completely fair the heal on Bard's shrine is currently super weak. If the values of the heal were to remain the same, wouldn't a 10-25% slow for 1 second be reasonable on this ability? It definitely adds to his power budget since the ability could be used after a successful Q and/or ult but he wouldn't chain crazy amounts of cc like Thresh and Leona. He might actually have a reliable ability as well with that change.

How about no.

If I step on a shrine, chances are I'm already going out of my way to deny the heal, setting me up for who knows what harass. I don't need to be punished even more for denying the heal.

I think the vision is fine just not the slow. Zyra's seeds do this.

VIsion is fine, slow really isn't. You're just removing counterplay by adding that slow.

Oh crap, with this type of change there's gonna be a bunch of:

Teemo : Dude, where's your sightstone?? Bard : Why? I have W.

Let's not pamper them with self-build kit in their abilities when all players need to learn to purchase visions for themselves.

EDIT: Nvm, just saw your edit. Now that would be useful lol.

As a support main who does play bard a lot, I can say that sightstones are not something I want to buy. Not when we all have trinkets we can upgrade leaving at most 15 wards across the map.

10 wards, not 15, an upgraded trinket gives you 2 wards, add to that it also cuts the sweeping lens to cut the enemy wards.

I agree people need to use their trinkets more, but that doesn't mean support gets to cut Sightstone, Sightstone still gives you a great advantage and if you're not getting it but the enemy team is they will have more vision then you in the end anyway.

Upgraded Trinket wards last 3 minutes and recharge at a rate of 1 per minute. You place 2, wait 1 minute, 3 wards out.

That still leaves the lack of a sweeping lens, and my point still stands. A team with a sight stone and Sweeping lens will have more vision on the map then a team with no sight stone and all trinkets. All the support not buying a SS will do is lead to someone else on the team having to sacrifice a item so they can get a sweeping lens or SS.

Am I saying that without a sweeping lens you are for sure going to lose? No, half the time the enemy team never touches their trinkets either, I'm more or less just asking why put your team in the Position of not being at the best advantage just so you can get one extra item as support?

Your point does not stand well as I did say "at most" which in turn means your point did just go dull.

Daedalus8711 votes

To be fair, the max is actually 20 wards (not counting Teemo shrooms and the like), but that's never going to happen.

Leon37891 votes

If I might ask, how so? The point I'm trying to make isn't about how many wards you can place, I've already admitted I was wrong, but that still brings to the table, what about the Lens? Even if you still get the lens and no SS and leave warding to everyone else on your team you'll still be at a disadvantage to a team that sacrifices their 6th support item for a SS.

Otherwise you're suggesting not getting a lens at all, but still if the enemy gets a lens themselves, they can deal with your wards while you have no way of dealing with theirs, allowing them more control over who has vision on the map then you do.

So my point DOES still stand with the Sightstone giving more of an advantage then you are giving it credit for.

Ever since Trinkets came, Sightstone became obsolete and no one seems to know the right way to buff it for any and all champs (but mostly supports) without it being either too OP or just stupid. Meanwhile, if I want to place a lot of wards, I can with a Trinket that can ward like the Sightstone (only holding 2 at a time) but unlike the Sightstone, its rechargeable. Or you can buy the permanent version or switch to a whole entirely different trinket. See what someone is doing from far off, look for invisible wards and such, upgrade each to do more. Sightstone can't keep up.

15 wards = 15 wards, leaving you with the same amount of vision, regardless of how much vision the enemy has.

While I think this would be a good buff to bard that would make his shrines scale into the late game, It really doesn't fit thematically so I'd have to say no.

At the very least should take people in combat no more mobility boots for you

Slows, no external vision.

That would just be free wards depending on what you mean by vision. Constant vision, no. When they step on it? Why not.

Sorry, I should've been clearer, I meant vision when the enemy steps on it. I'll edit that.

Crossette1 votes

Alright. I would be perfectly fine with that as a buff. :P

FakeGravity1 votes

I would also love it gives a very very small vision permanent so it be more visible in bushes at all time (but don't give any vision for enemies unless they are right over it)

meh.

I'd say its fair. Even if the heal is nice and fair and the MS boost is... there, it still costs a lot to put one down. Starting at 80 and going all the way to 120 for each heal.

Big Lincoln1 votes

a targeted slow would be kinda silly considering he has meeps

make it only slow if its placed on the ground and charges for a few seconds

GankLord1 votes

vision yes but slow i'd say no.

Habitz1 votes

Why does he need a buff?

alfavhunter1 votes

How to buff his shrines

Enemies Stepping on a shrine will reveal them for 1.5 seconds

Stepping on a fully charged shrine will reveal the enemy for 3 seconds

Shrines now have chime scaling for every 10 shrines the MS bonus is existences by .1 second
