So, why does it seem like Warwick's ban rate increased dramatically over the last few days?

So, I've been trying to set my focus on getting better in the Jungle, especially since Warwick's rework released, and my two primary Junglers are Xin Zhao and, as of recent, Warwick. I took a break for one day and all of the sudden any game I go into everyone's wasting bans on Warwick.

I'm mostly running on the assumption that it's a delayed response that people only just now realized they don't know how to fight Warwick and are just banning him so that they don't have to learn, but I'm honestly curious as to what the real reason(s) might be.

they dont want him in their team. the champion isnt even viable compared to decent junglers he is still an afk farm champ but now he can gank pre 6 because of his W but even then his ganks aint anything special unless the enemy is overextended and if we talk overextened kha zix can kill you 4 times over if you aint near your tower.

He's a fine pick, practically all my games with him have been carry ones.

Maybe the people playing him have mostly acclimatized to his Jaws of the Beast functionality? I know in the handful of games I've played as Warwick, I've done mostly okay, but I've also been shut down pretty hard a few times and in one case I actually dominated - but I doubt I'm a suitable case for any discussion.

Case and point, if it's Warwick players getting better after getting used to him, then that's pretty great overall, but IMO not a great reason for him to be banned so often as I've seen.

He was just released and you do not want people played a reworked champion that just came out on ranked on YOUR team or ENEMY team. One , feeds and never be useful or two be carry monster and can 1v9 with no items because you don't know how to counter him.

I'm actually talking normals here, so that point doesn't really apply, sorry to say.

Even in normals this happens, sometimes people flame the people who try new champs for that. "gg report ww bronze noob" "0/12 jungler in 2 minuits wow!"

"Play skillful champion scrub"

True. So I suppose it's more in the hypothetical best-case-scenario. I still can't fathom why a lot of people are so vehemently against people playing new champions or reworked ones.

Overall, his ban rate has been diminishing since patch 7.2, from 44% to 16% in ~10 days. (and this also depends on MMR, he is banned more in low MMR, less in high MMR).

Locally, I guess, you could have at your MMR, on your server, a few good ww games and players banning him because tilted, for a few hours / days.

Regardless of the champion you play, often, you're fed (say 10/2/10 for example), and some players will say "OMG that champ is broken gg Riot", but really, when you're fed, most champions are OP anyway.

I think ww is quite well balanced, his winrate has been actually pretty low at all MMR, especially high MMR, and some are successful on him, some are not... I expect his pick and ban rate to decrease, kind of similarly to Yorick after his rework
