Who does Riven beat in top lane?

Riven So, I been playing Riven on my smurf who will be my main eventually. I recently made a big thread defending Riven claiming she isn't broken, or OP, and explained valid reasoning like her NEEDING TO BE FED. I acknowledged her kit is good, but again, needs to be fed before she can 1v5 people, but there is people out there saying she can 1v5 people pre-6 lol.

Anyhow, who exactly does she counter top? Can you list me some champions. I recently got my ass kicked so hard by Volibear . Literally did shit damage compared to him (even if he had runes bTW I'm like level 22 or something on my alt). So yeah, did shit damage against him, and he didn't even have a defensive item, just had the standard sword. Yet he crushed me and just annoying as hell. OH BUT IF Volibear builds tank, you won't be killing that fucker. Garen This bastard is like the worst top champion in the game, almost a instant report for just playing him. I do wanna say it's possible to beat him with Riven if you go tank spec, but that's about it because otherwise, he's gonna 1 shot you with his spin to win, especially his R that seems to 1 shot anyone in the game and is more OP than VVeigar dreams his ult of being. Oh, and what's with Garen 1 shotting people full tank spec too? That ult does too much damage, and people actually defend that? What's even more gay is he will be back to 100% HP from his passive if you don't stay on him, which is just frustrating as hell. So pick your poison, do you wanna be killed by him or do you wanna be killed by him? Go full retard and die hoping you got a chance to kill him, or hit him a few times only to see his HP back to 100%?

Nasus Forget it, you can't kill him, nor can he you if you go tank I guess, but he will eventually win that 1v1 if you fought to the death unless he don't got ignite (probably doesn't even need it).

Darius Ok, so I'm not sure how OP this guy is against Riven really as I haven't played her long tho she's level 5 on my alt account, only played her a few times on this current one I'm posting on because I got my ass whipped and gave up, but I've gotten so better with her since I said fuck it, I'll try her again and see what the fuss is all about yet I come across these guys like Darius . Now, one game I was able to do some damage to him, the other game I couldn't get close because he fucking kept draining my HP with his spin to win. (Better not let him pull you).

So that's a few champions that seem to piss me off at top and totally fuck up Riven, so if she was broken for real, YOU'D NEVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER LOSE to these champions OR EVER LOSE A GAME. Yet most Riven's go negative and suck ass, so if she was that easy, then people would be ALWAYS going positive. I explained the MMO thing where if a class is broken, even retards can win, but a retard with RIVEN CANT WIN

So, the question is... Who does Riven beat at top or have the easiest time with? I'd truly like to know who she counters. I don't wanna hear about how she fucks up a squishy ADC with like no HP pool, I wanna know which top laners does she wreck. The only one right now coming to mind is Teemo but eventually his ult will drop your HP lol again unless you go tank. So who does Riven beat ?

Riven beats just about anyone if you play it right, the juggernauts and champs like them counter her in that they're tankier and/or have sustain, so you have to play to that or around it instead of just face smashing your keyboard for early trades and kills.

But what I really came here to say, her requiring to be fed before she can 1v5 doesn't mean she isn't broken as fuck, no champ should be able to easily 1v5 an entire fucking team no matter how fed! That's simply ridiculous, and it does happen in lower elos just cause of how easy her kit is to grasp and how hard it is to play against it if she's not completely shut down. And even if she is, due to her multiple hard aoe cc she can still be useful to her team, that's just how stupid her kit is.

Once you get extremely proficient with her (i.e. learn her animation cancels, the quick combo, etc) she can hold her own against anybody including her counterpicks.

She can flat out crap on GP, Teemo, Vlad, Sion, Trundle, Aatrox, Rengar, Rumble, and Yas relatively easily if you know how to trade effectively. Generally anybody who doesn't have innate tankiness, have crappy early games, or don't have the CC necessary to keep her at a distance.

She can beat Darius early on (levels 1/3 ish) if you know how to play around him. Champs like Irelia and Fiora are more skill-based (i.e. baiting Fiora's Riposte) but can still easily be won.

The only true counter picks I've found are Chogath Olaf Malphite Kennen and the occasional Nasus who knows what they're doing. Everyone else should be at most, a skill matchup.

Riven has a pretty high skill floor

Supposedly Riven can shit on basically everyone once you learn her, but in my experience most Rivens just feed even in lanes they should win.

The problem is that despite most people's whining, riven actually has a hard time against almost all common top laners. With a lot of practice and dedication you can turn those matches into skill matchups almost purely by being more experienced at the matchup then your opponent probably is.

What I have learned is the only thing that counters riven is herself. If a player can use her mechanics perfectly every time, they cannot be beaten. If the riven mechanics blow, you can beat her easily. The fact that skill determains the counter power to her is something that people have complained about not having in game. But the fact it gets to a point of very little counter play is the problem.

The list of champions she loses to is much much shorter than the list of champions she beats. Everything else is a skill matchup. A skill matchup for Riven that is because the enemy cannot outplay you. Only the Riven player can outplay themself by doing something retarded and lose.

She in fact doesnt have much great matchups anymore after the earlygamenerfs. Vlad, rumble and akali are the best ones after my experience, also every meele assasin has a hard time against riven. Other than that its most of the time a disadventage for riven or a skill matchup. If you run into the common toplaner youll have a hard time till you get used to the matchups, practise does the trick.

Once you get good with her, she beats most top laners, and for the most part her counters become skill matchups in their favour. You'll have trouble with: Tryndamere Renekton Darius Irelia Jax . Of course, some opf them only early and some only later. If you build properly, you will win lane against anyone who builds tank, you might not kill them but you will win.

Played properly, she is capable of beating just about anyone though.

the only champions i can't beat at the moment are the juggernauts Darius Garen. they have too much sustain in lane for riven (or any top laner for that matter), since she usually starts with sword and 3pots. even with cloth and 5pots, you will probably back before they do their first back. that's why they are banned in most games.

oh, and Renekton. he's a beast, if played right.

Riven only works well if you get the animation canceling right. You can dumb a huge load of damage very quickly and be back out of range before they can retaliate much. Win one or two trades that way and you can probably kill them on the next one.

Riven's kit in itself is actualy quite weak, but if you do the fast combo your opponent simply doesn't have the time to react.
