Pyke Changes

The proposed Pyke change are honestly heart breaking. I’ve loved Pyke since his release and he never felt too strong to me. He wasn’t like a Yas who got one kill and suddenly could get a penta next buy. He wasn’t a Riven who one shot half your team no matter how far behind.

But fine, nerf him. Nerf Pyke. Lower his scaling. Lower his DMG. Raise his CD’s. But this... Idk. It’s honesty heart breaking and for me it feels like the thing that made him even remotely viable is now just gone. That passive heal is the only thing, THE ONLY THING that made Pyke worth taking into a game. I mean, why bother now? One ability hits me and boom, I’m either dead or have to back. There’s no real engage now that won’t just mess me up and make me insta die.

Of the many Pyke changes that could have been done to make him tolerable, this made him absolutely useless. And frankly, why Pyke? Gut Yas. Gut Riven. Gut Kayn. Of course it had to be the support.

Never felt so bad to be a support main. Tham, and now this. It’s like even Riot’s spitting on us. Remove the role and add another lane if you hate supp so much.

I expect tons of hate for this rant, but screw it. I love Pyke, and he didn’t deserve this when so many others have been such a worse problem for much longer.

Where are the changes, can you link them?

Edit: Found them.

His passive is the reason you pick him?

Not the massive, AOE, chain-scaling true damage execute ult that shares gold?

One ability hits me and boom, I’m either dead or have to back.

Yes, that is how Pyke should be. Aggressive, risky, high-reward.

Currently I think he's in a fair spot but if they were going to hit something it should have been his passive.

If they're nerfing Pyke, it's because of the huge spike in Pyke top/mid players.

He's supposed to be a support, not a solo laner. They're nerfing him accordingly. Hitting his passive reduces his ability to solo lane efficiently, which is a good idea.

Dude, I think you're overreacting a bit.

If they are nerfing his passive (which might be changed considering it's a proposed change, it's not final) Pyke will still be good, you just have to play more carefully and not be overly aggressive into certain comps. That's totally fair, I think Pyke can be too forgiving at times and I'm eager to see how people will play him now.

honestly the fact that they're just moving it to the W doesn't seem too bad, Pyke's gotten a bit of a compensation buff in all stages still (faster early game Q CD, more W movement speed late game). As a Pyke player I don't see much wrong with this.

I have a feeling he will need a hotfix buff if this actually goes live.

I mean the only thing that's changing is that he doesn't get his sustain at level 1. It's still going to be a passive, you just need to have a point in W to access it. I don't see how this ruins him as a champ. It just opens up potential level 2 ganks from the jungle in solo lanes.
