Whats the point of playing ranked if Riot is gonna soft cap me at specific ranks?

Seriously, only a month into the new season and im already getting 18-16 lp and losing 19~.

Last season i peaked D3 and ended d4, this season i started from gold 1 and from the moment i hit p3, my LP gain just dropped from 22-24 to 18, yea i know - i "reached my mmr rank" or something like that, but why should i even continue to try to climb if i get such little progress while not even reaching my last season's ending rank? It's not like i even have negetive winrate, im still winning more than im losing, so why do i need to win 6 games in a row just for a CHANCE to get into the next division, which means 8 wins in a row for a single bracket.

Maybe im missing something? anyone else experiencing the same LP gains?

He's got a Point, I mean The game is Balanced so you Win 50% of Games as Each Champion, so really you Only climb if you play the Most Busted champion in the Most Busted Metta to the Team pool of 150 or so champs. I was gold 1 last season, then they started changing the Game and I fell to Gold 4 realzied I wasn't Climbing so I stopped playing the Game entirely because Evelynn Just wasn't a Good Ranked Champion. I'm just shy of 2 million mastery as Eve, and because Her ability to Split push is so Shit compared to a udyr I just can't win. she's just a Murder Hobo that Can't secure Objectives after she murders the Team, It's really the Teams job to do everything else. What their should be is a System in which if you hit S rank as your champion you get Reduced LP loss Each Team should have a MVP rating system based off Objectives Secured for your Lane Vrs other Lanes.

I started in Silver 2 this season, now I'm silver 4 with over 200 games played probably going to fall to Bronze as Evelynn because in Low ello Nobody works well with her, Especially now that everything is so Fast Paced.

I find I have to Gank botlane/secure botlane Twice Before the Dragon Spawns, and again before the second Dragon spawns Ignoring entirely my opposing Jungle farm Rift, Top, and Mid if I want to Win a game. I really only farm the Same 3 Jungle Camps over and Over ignoring Skuttles, and if I'm lucky stealing my Enemys Jg camps On that side Because Botlane winning the game is just Too Imporant, At this point I don't Give a shit how Mid or top are doing it feels like my only job is to secure the lane that helps with Dragon, because I just don't have Time to enjoy the rest of the game, so if that Top laner doesn't have Teleport or a fast way of trans-versing the Map, I really don't want him on my team, Unless He takes Ignite and Wins his Lane and takes that Win to Midlane, and secures Rift when I kill the enemy jg, Ideally I want the Support to Tip Midlane back into Favor after I get bot a Trip Kill after the Dragon steal, and then regularly swap between ganking Mid and Holding bot, but that's not going to Happen Because Everybody needs their Turret plating.

L.p. and rank are progression systems. MMR is skill raiting and MM system.

Basically just keep winning and ignore l.p.. It slants towards mmr values.

@ jack. just look at your match average on Op.GG and your rank. In my experience the LP skew always is in the direction of match average compared to your current rank. I have never hit diamond so i don't know if that's true for that MMR or above, but its been consistent for me from Bronze to Plat, thou placements are definitely dramatically skewed.

Actually what is the point of playing ranked when my game can be stuck in loading screen and i get a free loss, or it disconnects/freezes 10 times in a row in laning phase and then crashes around 10 min forcing me to reload into the game..... it's kinda unplayable tbh.

This should have been fixed in preseason, but some people are dealing with this shit for 3 months or even longer.

Never played an online game that was THAT BROKEN and it amazes me how Riot managed to degrade performance and stability for the game over the last years. I never had any issues in season 3-6.

Report Riot for refusing to communicate.

why should i even continue to try to climb if i get such little progress

There's two options:

  1. You get a 50% (or less) winrate. Then you ARE at the rank you deserve, and yeah, you shouldn't try to climb.
  2. You get a > 50% winrate. Then your LP gains will start to increase again, it's just a slower process.

(Also, keep in mind last season ranks were over-inflated. E.g. Plat+ was the top 15% of the ladder, whereas in season 8 it was the top ~10%, and this season it's still early but it's the top 8%. You can reach the same percentage of the ladder and still have a lower rank.)

You say "I still win more than I lose" but you aren't really.

You have <50% winrate on your last 40 ranked solo games.

Even your overall winrate is almost at 50% (52% atm) which means your MMR and rank must be very close to eachother.

If last season you got way higher than this season, it means you either A) changed champions you main this season resulting in you playing worse than last season. B) the champions/style you played last season isn't as effective in this seasons meta (top lane carries for example are way less relevant today than in season 9) C) Climbed to diamond last season but NOT AT THE START OF THE SEASON, so your competition wasn't so good. D) took some kind of break from league and your game isn't as honed as last season.

If none of these 4 apply idk what to tell you. Hang in there, clean up your playstyle and you will definitely climb.
