whats the point of malzahar now? yoricks minions do more damage and arent limited to a timer. plus the rest of his kit actually does damage.

His suppress is uncleanseable and takes someone out of play unless they have a qss. Malzahars job isn't to eliminate someone, play with the rest of your teams strengths instead.

youve got to be trolling right? malzahars ult does no damage. its just a weak aoe that does health % damage that you can just walk off.

Well, the pool still does AoE, but the suppress itself is single target.

While this is technically true it forms under the single target and it disappears shortly after the Nether Grasp ends. Not really much of an AoE

Yeah. It'd still do damage to other champions standing in the pool, but they really shouldn't be standing in it in the first place.

Because Malzahar can summon more Voidlings than Yorick's ghouls? Because Malzahar's Voidlings actually have resistances unlike Yorick's ghouls so they can actually take objectives and not die in 1 hit? Because you actually have more control over Malzahar's Voidlings than anyone of Yorick's spawns? AD Malzahar is still better than Yorick in my eyes. You can summon an insane amount of Voidlings and still contribute to teamfights with CC on your ult and don't need a bull shit pre-condition to fight (AKA: You need graves to summon ghouls). AP Malzahar is still strong too because his Voidlings apply ON HIT EFFECTS as well as his good ap scaling on his other abilites. Something Yorick's ghouls or mist maiden cannot do. Plus Malzahar still has one of the strongest passives in the game tbh.
