Karthus Rework Idea
While Karthus isn't that bad of a champion, he has been overshadowed in the current meta by many assassins and bruisers that are becoming stronger and stronger, in addition to the number of items and abilities that counter his iconic ultimate. This rework attempts to keep his same play style but make his kit more relevant to the current meta.
Passive: Death Defied- Upon taking fatal damage, Karthus dies. Every time that Karthus dies, his ability power is permanently increased by 50 and his magic penetration is permanently increased by 5.
Q: Lay Waste- Karthus deals 60/90/120/150/180 (+40% AP) magic damage to enemies in an area after a brief delay. If Lay Waste only hits one target, the damage is increased by 40/50/60/70/80% and Karthus gains 60/70/80/90/100% movement speed for 2.5 seconds. Cooldown: 1 second
W: Wall of Pain- Karthus raises spectral walls that surround himself at 400 range for 8 seconds. Enemies that pass through the walls lose 30/35/40/45/50% of their magic resistance for 3 seconds and are slowed by 60/65/70/75/80% for 2 seconds. Walking back through walls refreshes or reapplies the slow and magic resist shred. Cooldown: 18/16/14/12/10 seconds
E: Defile- When toggled off, Karthus regenerates 6/8/10/12/14% of his missing mana back every second. When toggled on, Karthus deals 50/75/100/125/150 (+25% AP) magic damage to surrounding enemies every second. This damage is increased by 1% for every 2% mana Karthus is missing. Cooldown: 2 seconds
Ultimate: Requiem- Karthus instantly deals true damage to all enemy champions equal to 20/30/40 (+8 per 100 AP)% of their maximum health. Cooldown: 180/150/120 seconds
The point of this rework was to update Karthus' kit to fit the current meta, giving him more tools to duel bruisers and assassins while keeping the idea of his kit the same. Reply with any changes you'd make!
