Kog'Maw Rework Idea

Kog'Maw has always been meant to be a glass cannon, but as the mobility and damage are on the rise, Kog'Maw has been constantly crushed by the many of the popular assassins. This rework attempts to fix some of his major problems to keep him relevant, especially after the recent Rageblade nerfs.


Passive: Bio-Arcane Barrage- Kog'Maw's basic attacks are enhanced, causing them to deal additional magic damage equal to 4/5/6 (+1 per 100 AP)% of his target's maximum health. Additionally, Kog'Maw permanently gains 1 range for killing a unit, up to a maximum of 100.

Q: Caustic Spittle- Kog'Maw fires a corrosive projectile that deals 60/100/140/180/220 (+60% AP) magic damage to the first enemy hit. Kog'Maw gains 40/50/60/70/80% attack speed and basic attack damage against the target hit for 4 seconds. Cooldown: 12/11/10/9/8 seconds

W: Icathian Surprise- Kog'Maw causes a chain reaction in his body, dealing 200/325/450/575/700 (+120% AP) true damage to himself and surrounding enemies. For 3 seconds after casting, Kog'Maw recovers from the detonation, becoming untargetable and gaining 30/35/40/45/50% increased movement speed. Icathian Surprise can kill Kog'Maw, and if it does it deals double damage and his death timer is cut in half. Cooldown: 60/55/50/45/40 seconds

E: Void Ooze- Kog'Maw spews a ball of ooze that deals 80/110/140/170/200 (+65% AP) magic damage to enemies hit, leaving behind a trail for 6 seconds that slows enemies inside by 20/25/30/35/40% as well as grounding them. Cooldown: 16/14/12/10/8 seconds

Ultimate: Living Artillery- Kog'Maw launches a ball of acid that deals 100/175/250 (+50% AP) magic damage to enemies around the location. Living Artillery deals double damage against enemies below 30% health. Additionally, upon death, Kog'Maw launches two Living Artillery blasts at every nearby enemy. Cooldown: 2/1.5/1 seconds


The point of this rework was to give Kog'Maw more tools to kite his opponents, as well as being able to fight back well in melee range with Icathian Surprise, whilst keeping his ability to damage enemies even after his own death. Reply with any changes you'd make!

soooo....basically just switch his W and Passive? Well at least you kept the explosion. >.> I've seen other ideas that just totally scrap it which makes me sad. Getting kills with the death passive are some of the more amusing ways to get kills with Koggy. :)

700 + 120% AP true damage is a guaranteed kill on everything if he goes full AP.

He explodes once for 2140 true damage, instagibbing the non-tanks on the enemy team, then after 3 seconds explodes again for double damage (because obviously the first blast killed him)

6420 true damage on one ability. Insane. All he has to do is flash into the enemy team and it's pentas for days. There is zero counterplay. Not to mention the kill denial on it. Pentas for days AND an instant self-execute is an absolutely broken combination.

Congratulation mate, you just made him a kamikaze.... i think the passive you made is just enough for him to be OP. And maybe add him some MS in basic.

EDIT: thinking of it, it´s becoming something like tristana before if you can remember, the only problem is, that kog is pain i late so he needs to be nerfed somehow, this comes in terms of movement speed and range /can be ammlipfied by W/. Just buffing him a bit would be enought for him to catch on in the game. Which is something i wouldn´t like cuz i ´m almost the only one playing kog these days and i love this spot.
