Let's talk about: Anivia

Hello everyone. I've made this post ( rather a thread ) to hear other people's opinions on Anivia. Just a friendly why and how by other people about the champion that is rarely played lately. I want to hear what you think about her as a champion, should she receive a nerf, or a buff, and why do you think that? For me personally, i find her fun to play, mostly. But i honestly think her Q projectile speed should be a bit faster than it currently is because its rather slow and quite easy to dodge. Also, please, if you think she shouldn't be touched or buffed, don't post any hateful / toxic comments, this is just a friendly thread about a particular champion and i hope there will be a couple more of threads just like this but with different champions.

Viable, but nothing special.

Could benefit from a Sorcery Keystone designed for magic dps, along with Victor/Malz/Rumble etc.

Fair enough. But i find her still quite weak in the current state of the game. I think there should be some sort of buff coming for her, something to do with her QE combo and Q projectile speed a bit higher. Also i think one E range buff shouldn't be an OP thing as well if she gets buffed

safest pick in the game. Never a bad pick. Not always a great pick.

I somewhat agree on that, but as you know, there are champions like Zoe that are early to mid game strong as hell. This new Luden's Echo gives Zoe sustain, huge burst, and it deals more damage with single combo ( dare i say a one shot ) unlike of anivia that can't deal that much damage even with rabadon's, seraph's embrace and rod of the ages. And it's pretty hard catching zoe since Anivia's ult is now a spreading thing and it needs time ( that you usually don't have against someone like her or someone who's got that big burst damage ) to start being useful

The new item changes should help her a bit, but she is nothing special unless used by the right players (which is not most players). She has an easy kit, but one with many openings and weaknesses. Mainly pre-6 and her slowness. In other words, she is great at seiging and defending towers, but awful at roaming and pre-6 anything. Skilled players will not be hurt much by this, though again, without a team they cant do anything great either. But once mid-late game gets here, she is relatively good. She takes Baron quickly, has great wave clear, burst, and AOE damage.

But i honestly think her Q projectile speed should be a bit faster than it currently is because its rather slow and quite easy to dodge.

It is slow, but long range and an AOE. I agree that it is somewhat slower than desired, but I feel the bigger issue is that it leaves her E's range by quite a lot. Meaning that in order to combo with your E, you have to use the stun to just get into range, which leaves you open for retaliation.

Indeed. Although you said it's an aoe, Lux's E is aoe as well ( even tho its slow but it still is some sort of cc ) but it travels far faster than Anivia's Q. Also the E issue you've said, i can't agree more with you on that one. It's super hard to hit her Q when you're up against champions that are super mobile, and lets be honest, who's not super mobile in the midlane? If not mobile, then at least it outranges Anivia's powers

I would say an excellent Anivia QoL change would be that if her target is stunned by her Q, the range of her E is increased for that target (similar to Caitlyn trap/net mechanics)

+1 on that
