Taliyah's passive needs some QoL changes
So I really enjoy Taliyah's passive aesthetically and it fits her playstyle well, but I often find it incredibly finicky to use. Sometimes I think I'm close to a wall but apparently I need to be closer, which may require me to manually path towards my destination when I want to be focusing on something else. Also, despite being a primarily mid-lane champion, she has to reproc her passive several times when walking out of base to midlane because the only "walls" in her path are the turrets, nexus, and inhibitor.
My proposed changes:
- Let the passive last longer after moving away from a wall, say 3 seconds so it doesn't feel like you've hit the breaks when you move away from the wall to position your ulti or return to the mid lane from spawn.
- Have the passive be active everywhere while in the allied base. (provided Taliyah is out of combat). Zooming out of base with homeguard is incredibly fun.
- Give Taliyah a bit more leeway when it comes to the distance between her and a wall needed to activate her passive.
- Don't count hitting wards as entering combat, this is a change already being applied to Boots of Mobility so I figure it should apply to Taliyah too.
- I'd also like to see the cooldown upon entering combat to be lower (maybe 3 seconds again) since staying near walls seems like enough of a limiting mechanic, but this one may be too annoying for others.
- Ignore the cooldown when riding alongside the wall created from her ultimate. This one is riskier than the others but since the ultimate is already tuned to be a bit too fast, I figure a little extra movespeed to correct your early/late jump could be incredibly useful.
Conceptually I find it odd that Taliyah derives her ability to summon a rocky surfboard by being close to objects that stretch upwards, but if we're going to stick with that (rather than, say, making them work like Boots of Mobility) then I feel that Taliyah's movement needs a bit more tuning to feel as smooth as the animation itself.
