To all you Yuumi "33% win rate" ney sayers

they're doing it wrong. Just someone or the whole team. She got the same rap bard did at his release and from what I've seen its because people are scared and ignorant. Yes Yuumi has great utility once shes revved up but like most supports she can't reach much farther then their adc. This means that if a lane fails hard thats more on the adc for making bad choices since for most of the game shes along for the ride. Thats probably a major part of why so many have cried about her (partly to shift their own faults). As someone who's been grinding her a fair bit I thought I'd just leave some tips for those who seem to struggle with her on the team.

Play as safe as needed in the early game ADC's. Because your support is untargetable for most of the game and stuck to you it means your positioning is all the more important. Yuumi has a few tricks to help you since she can stack an extra summoner skill and pop some decent heals in a pinch but her early game is pretty weak if she cant effectively poke ppl down someone. better to be cautious because your her ride as well and if her partner cant properly compete then everyone would probably be better off if she left, as to not drop an extra kill for catching someone down on their luck.

To yuumi's, it should be obvious but bruisers and hyper carries are your dream rides. good adc's by nature are cautious and have many split decisions to make so they have to stay by the sidelines to be threatening and effective but also to avoid danger. its easy for yuumi's skills to go out of range if your not near a fight so being in the middle of it is your best bet at effective use of your skills. Also mind you know whats happening when you decide to stick to someone. You yourself provide a world of possibilities to those your with but are you contributing best where you are?

For the adc and yuumi a very important factor for trades and fights bot is at least some basic trust that your looking out for each other. She literally attaches to you so your best interests are hers. a fair amount of communication is necessary to help an adc decide their standing and whether going for simple trades or if all inning a fight is winnable. let them know relavent cooldowns such as summoner spells or ults if it looks like your ride is thinking of going in on someone. she's a living steroid whose life is in anothers hands after all, no trust means fights will probably end badly or the target survives.

Also for yuumi's, learn when its time to cut bait and abandon someone. I know its generally against a good supports nature to leave a teammate to die but all too common to have to. For yuumi though that line can quickly blur. since your playing at the pace of your current ride you also need to keep extra awareness of your surroundings. how many enemies are closing in on your ride? are there other allies that can help you or retreat to if things get dicy? do you have enough skills up to deal with a surprise? you feel bad for the ones who get caught but if you've given em everything you can and its still not enough its better to leave them to die and make a run for it. This has been an issue for me a number of times because i've simply made it possible for my ride to rush through multiple turrets, into the enemy base and just hang out there picking up kills and wave farm Better then giving the enemy an extra free kill when the spree starts to sputter out. This is especially true if your using mejai's soulstealer. keeping those stacks means you poke harder and heal harder for a cheap price. plus with having at least 10 stacks you get a movement speed boost, which also helps you escape a bad fight.

Finally Ill leave on the note of an annoyance of mine. its common when i'm trying to poke and the Q almost lands that the adc suddenly pulls back and it falls short right at their feet. Sometimes there's a reason but usually its just because of an odd habit adc's have while farming. It just kills me in the early game because every bit of mana a support spends is important because of limited stats and needing to hold some reserve in case things go south. Yes her passive can give her mana back but usually when a yuumi tries to do this is when the enemy team tries to bait her into exposing herself and its very easy to burst a yuumi to death.

Bard was terrible on release. On top of that, literally every single balance change he's received has been a buff.

I don't have an opinion on Yuumi either way (I haven't seen her in enough games), but you people need to use better comparisons.

She's the enchanter for poke marksmen right now. She's great with things like Caitlyn Ezreal Varus. Just don't pick her with a Vayne because your going to die.

Aww....... I came here thinking you were going to boast some 60% win rate or something.

Instead you're trying to tutor players on common sense.

Even though you're unranked, play norms, and generally don't post phenomenal scores.

Nah dude, it has to do with the fact that Yuumi should only be played with a capable duo and I'm beginning to think she's best in the hands of off meta bot lane picks

the fact is, almost no adc can 1.34 v 2, especially since it's actually a 1.34 v 4 because enemy jg, and mid will come down for the free kills against your underfed adc

basically yuumi early game is extremely weak

I've only been able to have a decent time with my buddy who is now a yuumi otp by picking Jayce and rushing 20% cdr with a page that offers 25% cdr which allows me to be able to pump out enough damage. I have to get merc treads for the tenacity when I do this, which sucks because when you're against an adc you want tabi as a non-adc or non-mage.

I've had some luck with graves who also has an alright early game if you rush a bit of lifesteal (Dorans into vamp scepter before starting your first item is so depressing though)

She can't reach much further than her ADC, and offers much, much less utility or damage than any other support in the game. She isn't even like Karma where she's in a middle ground of damage and shielding and cc, she's worse than that. She's outright bad at damage, bad at cc, and middling in utility.

I would not buff Yuumi anymore then where she is now. She is incredibly strong, I can get 500 AP around 15 to 20 minutes in the game. Just rush Majei's and Deathcap. Her Q is literally free poke every ~7 seconds. Its not even a trade because Yuumi can't even take damage and her range is twice the range of normal attack.

she was sub 30% before the buffs. While it may be too soon to say how strong she is, a support champion shouldnt see WRs that low on the first week otherwise ppl will just not play it. Encouraging more people to play the role should be a pretty high priority.

Nerfing her down later is more than completely fine if need be but the WRs i see her having now should of been her week 1 WRs.
