Really Riot? Emotes Cost RP?

Come on now Riot I thought yall were comin up with was for players to dump their excess IP (soon to be essence) and when I got to check the emotes your pricing them with RP? I mean you charged IP for runes and they actually have an impact on gameplay.

Don't tell me your gonna try to keep it like that because i can promise you I'm not spending a cent on this stuff knowing that the emotes for blizz games are practically handed out just for playing the games (sometimes just there by default too). With skins for champs and wards I understand you can see that stuff all the time will your playing without it disturbing you but you only see emotes for a little while and it pulls you away from gameplay to pay attention to them.

I don't know I might be overreacting but when i went to the store thinking that it was just some silly new content to make playing superficially more fun I was feeling good about it and then I saw they cost RP and my first thought was "wtf riot...", then I checked the pricing and thought "I could buy a skin for the same price as a few of these trinkets that mean absolutely nothing to gameplay". At least skins have visually pleasing movements and something you can almost always enjoy in game.

Does anyone else feel like Riot just gave us the finger?

I was actually interested in getting some. When I saw they cost RP, I changed my mind.

I don't need this feature that badly, sorry.

I don't even mind that emotes cost rp, but the current price point is ridiculous. I was curious about the emotes, but when I checked them in the store curiosity instantly changed to "never ever gonna get any".

The best reason not to purchase emotes is that they're able to be disabled by other players. You can display what, 6 emotes in game? Even with the discounts that's over the price of a normal skin in game that people can opt out of viewing. Idk just seems like a waste to me.

Unless they specifically stated so, aren't ya disappointing yourself? You raised your own expectations, ya assumed your own prediction, and you let yourself down with the actual result.

Frankly myself, I'm not surprised. With Runes out of the sales frame, they just replaced it core to the games theme of it's F2P, cosmetics.

I feel the same exact way, and you basically said it all #fatyboomboom. I thought it'd be a cute and funny way to express how you were feeling at the end of a team fight or even just before you get heinously ganked in the face (lol), but when I Saw it cost RP for them I was like "What? RP? Really? Why? It's reallly Not something Worth money like that, at least Not like Skins for champs and wards are." Seriously, it's Just an emote, the concept having originated from emoticons and emojis and gifs and all the sort that are basically Free to use and select from in most social media and even other games (as faty also mentioned). Why make it cost RP? It has No real weight for its value and is Purely, and for a very temporary amount of time At a time I might add, aesthetic! And in No way affects gameplay and, if anything, might hinder it or even induce Negative reactions by players for the most part (as can be understood by many of those who've had a "Rank 7" symbol flashed at them by an enemy after being outplayed). Anyway that's my case with this whole "emotes costing RP" thing...now what y'all have done with the Orange essence value market is a-Whole-nother Bigger thing I Definitely wanna get into in a separate thread, because That was just botched to hell, but like I said I'll save that for another time...in the meantime please take your fans into consideration Riot, don't just sell out for profits above the happiness of your fan-base just to make a little extra money and have your game found in the dust of online gaming history as a "Once Great.."...

People need the stop with the 'losing money because of rune change', you realize runes could never be purchased with RP right? They are not losing anything. As far as these emotes, I'm with most others, too much for me to care about. HotS gives them in boxes for free frequently.
