Both teams have AA heavy AD champions and thus end up building the item that directly counters AA heavy AD champions.
That's basic counterbuilding 101.
If you stop and look at the comps for just 5 seconds you'll see why.
Every threat is physical and there is very little CC there that gets reduced by tenacity.
The only buff Tabis ever received was going from 10% to 12% (after it was nerfed from 12% dodge). Even in its 10% state, it would be the best choice.
Why would anyone ever build Mercs when Riot overflooded the game with knock ups?

The problem is not that tabis are strong, is that what they counter is the normal pick.

Regardless of each team having AD comps, the fact that 80% of the enemy team has ninja tabis, and 70% of all people in that game has ninja tabis, shows that item is busted. The only exceptions are the adcs (who should be building tabis anyways) and the aniva, are out of this world ridiculous. I mean, even Aniva's opponent opted to build Tabis over Mercs. Does no one find that the least bit concerning?
I don't remember the last game I've opted in for anything other than Tabis or mercs on my adc... having more attack speed is valuable, yet I have to opt in for more survivability than anything else.
I can't understand if this is supposed to be sarcastic or they are actually just complaining that the team built smartly.

Kinda tells you how bad auto attack balance has become, when not only has the item become the default, over the optimal offensive boot type for your champion.
