Zhonyas cooldown vs some AD assassin's ult cd's

I'm curious so i'm going to look at some cooldown numbers. (partially because i dealt with an ultimate hat rengar last game and it was very unfun, won, but still unfun)

CDR: assuming 40% for all involved champions due to the ease at which it's obtained through duskblade/ghostblade, transcendence, and 10% from whatever you want (boots, jungle item, deaths dance, etc) If you were against an AP I suspect you would buy banshees making this comparison less important, so I'll do AD assassins that use ult a lot for their kills, and I'll be doing rank 3 ult cd's

Ultimate hat: reduces ult cd by up to 15% Cosmic insight can give a global 5% cdr

According to the wiki this is 49% cdr on ults since it stacks multiplicatively. If cosmic insight is applied it is then 53.25% (highly unlikely)

With Ingenious hunter you can get 40% active item CDR, 45% with cosmic insight (well it could be a bit less if ingenious hunter is multiplicative as well)

Zhonyas CD: 120 seconds. 5%: 114 sec. 40%: 72 sec. 45%: 66 sec. (Included 5% since the only way a mage will be taking both masteries is to take domination and inspiration which, might happen, but probably won't)

Nocturne ult CD: 100 seconds. 40%: 60 sec. 49%: 51 sec. 53.25%: 46.75 sec.

Rengar ult CD: 70 seconds. 40%: 42 sec. 49%: 35.7 sec. 53.25%: 32.725 sec.

Riven ult CD: 60 seconds. 40%: 36 sec. 49%: 30.6 sec. 53.25%: 28.05 sec.

Talon ult CD: 60 seconds. 40%: 36 sec. 49%: 30.6 sec. 53.25%: 28.05 sec.

Zed ult CD: 80 seconds. 40%: 48 sec. 49%: 40.8 sec. 53.25%: 37.4 sec.

Zhonyas gives 45 armor. The lowest base armor at level 18 for any champion, excluding thresh, (since his doesn't scale but he gets it from souls) is Orianna at 68. The highest is Braum at 123.5, but the highest for an ap likely to go mid is diana at 92.2, then akali at 90.9, then finally mage-like champs with viktor/swain at 90.7.

This means assuming zhonyas is your only source of armor you would probably have between 113 - 137.2 armor

Assuming duskblade and ghostblade as before the assassins would have 40 lethality. With edge of night it's 60. With sudden impact mastery it's 70. Note: another serrated dirk can further increase the lethality to 82, but that would be lost as soon as the item is completed Last whisper items penetrate 35% bonus armor (applies before lethality's flat pen) Assuming zhonyas is the only armor item, last whisper penetrates 15.75 of that armor.

Effective armor at level 18 vs 40 lethality: 73 - 97.2 armor 60 lethality: 53 - 77.2 70 lethality: 43 - 67.2 Last whisper + 70 lethality: 27.25 - 51.45

At the end of the day zhonyas keeps you from being at "0 armor" vs lethality stacking champions. But the cooldown is generally longer than most champions ults, in some cases it can be twice as long or more. Is it worth your time building it over more damage? in a coordinated game probably, those few seconds can allow your team to kill the assassin and/or get to you to save you. If you use a lot of dots or delayed damage it can be useful to keep yourself safe while still doing damage. But in a chaotic soloQ experience game it may not matter.

I don't know why i felt like doing this, I know i could have added in % damage reduction from the armor levels and used more champions like jarvan vi or wukong.

Please discuss!

mages WAS broken. not sure if they still are. i think after the assassin buffs and nerfs to shielding on seraphs they are in check. and now black clever abusers ruin the game :) no need for 2900g low lethality (and esp with early scaling) 60 ad when you can get 40ad, 400hp, percentage armor pen so you do tons of dmg and it works for the team too:) also 20% cd for the low low price of 3000g, thats not to mention phage passive which is godlike so now we no longer have mage v. mage shield battles but aatrox and urgot running around with slow, displacement, dmg, anti tank gameplay, carry potential and bs teamfight one shots :)
