Vi can punch through walls but Galio can't?

That's right guys, Vi can use (Q) Vault Breaker and punch through walls but in Galio's Champion Spotlight it's mentioned he cannot punch through wall's using his (E) Justice Punch.

Why? Was this on purpose Riot Games or did you guys just forget or were too lazy? Is this ever going to change or not because you guys refuse to acknowledge it's not okay and are lazy so you'd say it's on purpose?

Our intention is that Vi's should have a moderate amount of flanking ability and escape via the jungle in her base kit. With Galio by contrast we didn't want him to be as slippery, or able to approach fights from as many angles, so restricting his E's ability to cross terrain made sense.

I doubt that'll change in either case. It's certainly not an oversight or laziness.

could you at least make it directional, such that someone who wants to block his escape has to be in front of him rather than just touch them from behind while he winds up?

its tilting when someone big like gragas or cho is nearby and you try to use E on galio.

Warwick also has this problem. It's a massive hit box issue in general.

Gee, maybe you should restrict Lee's Safeguard from being able to pass through walls/terrain too. I'd rather have Galio coming across walls than Lee any day. At least Galio and Vi can't kick people out from under turret after flashing halfway through his ult cast to redirect it.

Because Balance, Okay.

Vi really needs a more defined niche imo. She's pretty close to having one, but atm she just feels far too viable ALL the time, and no champion should be like that.

RogueWill1 votes

I think her niche is being a champion capable of locking someone up no matter the circumstances. Her ult is point and click, can't be stopped midway, can't be missed or dodged, if you see her coming she will finish the channel.

well Vi's Q can be interrupted, but galios E cant. see trade off.

That's a good point.

can we stop comparing 2 completely different champions with other?

its like saying why can't Vi jump to an ally from half the map and give him 50% damage reduction but Galio can?

AmazoX2 votes

It's the ability, Not the champion & their contexts

RogueWill1 votes

because he doesn't get slowed significally to get the max range so in average he will get a longer dash

AmazoX2 votes

That's a trade off in abilities, Galio's trade off is that he briefly dashes backwards for one second.

RogueWill1 votes

well... you just said it yourself? the trade off of not having to wind it up is that he can't go over walls.

Nalisai2 votes

Galio is the one who has the wind up - he goes backwards before he jumps forwards.

FreeVolibear1 votes

Vi has a much longer and easily projected windup time.

Shadòw1 votes

the champions have 2 different purposes.

Vi's Q can go through walls as engage, what is Vi's purpose. Galio's purpose isn't engaging, so he can't use his dash through walls.

AmazoX2 votes

Then what is the purpose of it?

Shadòw2 votes

because of the power budged of champions.

if Galios dash would work through walls that would give him an unintended strength he isn't supposed to have. this would mean he would have to be slightly tuned down somewhere else.

so instead of nerfing something like his numbers to balance him out they didn't give him the ability to jump through walls to balance him.

TL;DR because balance. Okay.

Different champions. Should all skillshot stuns be the same duration? Why not? They are all skillshots and they all still stun people. Should all auto attacks deal the same amount of damage? Why not? They have identical functions in the game (except for range differences).

AmazoX2 votes

I agree with you but here's what confuses me:

Imagine 2 different champions having a dash in their kit, One could dash through the wall while the other cannot, Why is that? I asked for clarification not statements that they both are different champions which is obvious.

Marshbouy3 votes

Because they are different champions. Different champions have kits that function in different ways. Deal with it. It's not that fucking hard.

All said and done, Clarify.

Well here at the leaguefarm all champ can equal.... just some are more equal than others.

OP gets a well written response stating the design direction of the champion and whines about it.
Really!?

AmazoX2 votes

Where's the whining part?

Krazydigg3r2 votes

You realize this was on purpose right? They clearly mentioned his e cannot go through walls. This was probably just to change it up from the norm dash...

AmazoX2 votes

Yes, They clearly mentioned his (E) Justice Punch cannot go through walls, But did not clarify why Vi's (Q) Vault Breaker can go through walls and whether it was on purpose or not, Hence why Meddler clarified like the fine gentlemen he is.

Short Answer: Vi is intended to be a jungler, so some mobility aids are applied. Galio is meant to be a laner, therefore, walls aren't his thing because they don't fit his intended play-style.

Galio is now a big, clunky statue rather than the gargoyle he used to be, so slow and cumbersome are parts of who he is. I like his new kit overall. My only foible with Galio, really, is that they messed with his model and skins. I want my old Enchanted Galio back :(.

AmazoX1 votes

Thank you for the answer but already got from Meddler.

You could also ask why Patheon can ult onto the enemy, team, wherever he chooses in his range, yet Galio can only ult on a teammate. I mean, they are both jumping/flying in the air and landing somewhere in a big circle... they should be the same right? The obvious answer is "Because Riot did not want him to be Vi" and "Because Riot did not want him to be Pantheon" I think sometimes we forget that just because we are customers, we can completely dictate to Riot what we want as if we owned the game. It baffles me how entitled LoL players are.
