Should I get Elise or Yasuo?

I have 6300 ip, and I want to pick between the two of them. Elise is great jungle, okay mid. Yasuo is great mid, okay jungle. I main both of those roles. Which should I get? Thanks!

Elise. She's a really versatile jungler with great early pressure and pick potential and one who is strong in most metas unless her numbers are gutted.

I would not recommend playing Yasuo unless you are significantly more skilled than your opponents and/or it is a counter-pick.

Yasuo tends to get camped by junglers since he is squishy and has to play aggressively while having no unconditional escapes or CC.

What do you think about Zed?

I'm personally against him. He is a melee-ranged physical damage champion with minimal CC in a role that traditionally provides:

  • Magic damage
  • Safe waveclear
  • CC

He can work quite well, especially if you have magic damage from your jungler and top laner, but you are generally better off having an AP mid laner.

Then again, the only AD mid laners I actually like are Varus (waveclear, poke, CC on ultimate) and Corki (magic damage with AD itemization, good poke and waveclear).

Keep in mind that I am biased. I just find that Zed and Yasuo tend to screw with team compositions and many of the people playing them aren't that competent. They would generally be better off picking a simpler champion with more utility to fall back on.

So what would you say, in your opinion, is the best 6300 midlaner?

That depends on what you are looking for in your champion.

If you want an AD mid laner, I would recommend Varus, Jayce or Corki. They can all farm from a distance, have good waveclear and poke, and scale quite well as the game progresses. Varus and Corki scale like ADCs while Jayce peaks in the mid-game as a marksmen/fighter combo.

If you are heart-set on an AD assassin, Talon is much more reliable though he is a bit less flexible compared to Zed or Yasuo.

If you prefer utility champions, the following are good options: Lulu, Anivia, Morgana, Zyra, Lux or Vel'koz.

If you want poke and waveclear, Xerath and Ziggs are good options.

If you want versatile generalist who offers anything you want in a mid laner, then I would recommend Ahri.

Yasuo has a lower skill floor and (debate-ably) a higher skill ceiling. That being said, I recommend Elise so you don't look like an asshole :/
