you don't get the point in the early game let's say your 
vs your both 6 and the mid is

and you go help him nasus can get 60 or so stacks and now will rekt you when you get back to lane do to the fact you wanted to help your team

Then you notice how much farm you could've denied as a fairly good early game champ .-.
Then you notice the mistakes you made, oh wait who ever does this in wood division? Let's just flame the enemy champs cause counter play is for wusses.
No offence though, good or bad you should know a fair bit of match ups and counter play even if it's off meta... Just from experience.

Susan can farm into a beast, but needs utility from the team to delete champs in a team fight.
Same with Tryn, when he ults I just count to 5 and delete him. He needs a team to support him.

League is a game of taking down objectives first of all, not teamfighting
teamfighting is simply the easiest way to take down objectives
