Viktor vs Akali

I'm a Viktor main and i use to be able to just demolish Akalis for a long while but this last month I have been getting my shit kicked out of me by a lot of Akalis lately. I try to poke as much as I can pre-6 but the problem is that when Akali hits 6, and lets just assume I have my first upgrade with her having a revolver or two tomes at the most, she all ins me. What i have been able to do before is just put my gravity field down on me the second she ults into me which would work wonders, but Akalis lately have been using her cloaking field to slip by it and not getting stunned at all which leaves me wide open. If anyone can help me to play around this better or even give me any tips to her hitting six and how I should go about it would help wonders. What I run for runes, which vary between having an opponent who can all in me like akali or zed, I run electrocute and for my off tree I run sorc with nimbus cloak and scorch with ignite. When it comes to more passive mid laners, like xerath or lux, i go with aaery with nimbus cloak, celerity, and scorch with domination being my off tree. [vlad-salute]

I'm a Viktor main and Akali is one of the worst matchups in the game for him, consider picking a different champ if you see Akali locked in first.

If you get counter picked, consider taking resolve secondary, a defensive summoner and play far back after level 6 and let her push the wave. You just have to concede lane to her and know you'll be way more useful come 5v5 time. Just don't die to her whatever you do.

Try running Klepto + maxing Q against her. Every time she goes to CS, auto her with your empowered Q auto attack. Upgrade it first also, you'll get a bigger shield and mobility which is really helpful against melee assassins. You won't be able to shove lane very hard with this build, but you'll generate a fair amount of extra gold and overall be much safer.

At least you don't have some of your builds stolen by some youtube "celebrity" after you posted them on the subreddit and had success with it in high elo...

I actually pick Viktor into Akali usually...

Max Q first and build Sheen as your first item. You'll chunk her all day in lane with point/click and you get a shield to win trades with that. If she goes all in on you or tries to hide in her bubble, drop your stun bubble.

She can definitely kill you if you're not careful, but the early lane is yours IMO.

Try not to use your Q for farming unless you are under your turret. You wanna harass her as much as you can with Q + auto. An early sheen can be a nightmare to deal with against any champion that can effectively spam sheen procs on you (GP and Viktor being good examples). Never use W offensively after level 6. Always wait for her to initiate to use W. It is on a lower cooldown than shroud so if you use it when she uses shroud, then it should always be up when her shroud is up. Get used to where she goes when she uses shroud. If she retreats immediately towards her turret, then you can place W a little further back to force her to either get stunned or move to a less favorable position in her shroud. If she advances and wants to go for another dash, then place it towards the front of her shroud so she can't keep moving forward.

Yeah I choose Viktor against a lot of melee champs. His Q is hugely underrated and people always say to max laser, but against champs like Kat, or Akali and even Ekkko, he's deadly with Q and Sheen. I probably wouldn't choose him against Talon or Zed, however. They both have good ways of harassing you from range so you can't bully them the same way, and they'll also lol when you try to stun them.

Fizz is a really easy lane before 6 but if he lands his R you're dead every time. Leblanc is tricky. You definitely still want to max Q, and that will let you trade a bit, but she's going to have the edge on kill potential.

Actually now that I think about it, I would probably max Q in more matchups than not. Unless it's an artillery mage, I just think the trading power is too good to give up.

Banshees veil is an expensive but necessary item, i just see it as if I'm ranged i can Cs during her shroud and if she tries to then she is revealed long enough to predict a skill shot. Team fighting fast as you can is the only way to make her less useful.
