Playstyle and help.

Hey guys Im a low elo player and interested in improving and climbing. My playstyle tends to be poke, farm, clear waves and group. Ive been playing champions like swain, velkoz, maokai for mid and top. If i get lucky it works very well and my team groups and we can push. somtime comp work out bad and we lose, it happens. A lot of the time it doeant though. people tend to wonder too far off or chase and we get out numbered. Im wondering if i should change my style a bit. Split pushing seems to work out decetnly well . Some toplaners never leave lane and it seems to work out okay for them. Should I switch to this style of play? If so who would you suggest I play? I always take Tp top and am decent at teleporting when needed so I can rejoin my group if a ward is around.

I suggest, Anivia

Wave clear, 'can' be played mid and top, wave clear that is Unparalleled, hit a stun on someone and it will be poke enough, her teamfight and zone control is quite decent, grouping with her is great because the enemy team will most likely never be able to get past your wave clear :) Just an idea.

With Swain on top, you can wave clear and poke, but when you reach 6 and you aren't behind, it might be good to go in with your ult and attack a bit more seriously when there are a lot of creeps because of his healing, and the fact that your mana's gonna return. Then the opponent will prob have to use a corrupting pot, back, or stay with lower health and you can do the same thing soon enough. Also, with roaming bot lane, you can tell them to ward behind, and if the enemy bot lane is in good position, you can tp into the fray.

I could try playing a bit more aggressive on swain.
