The ping "On the way" does mean that i am on the way not that you should instantly engage and die before i am even close to your lane

My favorite is when the jungle pings "on the way" 3 times while circling behind mid, so I engage with cc when he is about here

And then the guy turns around to steal raptors instead of finishing the gank.
Dear junglers. You ping on the way when you're close, because in a high tense situation when the laner can kill me in two shots, and I see "on the way" I'm going to engage and hope that you're around.
Yeah, I saved the "On My Way" ping for when I planned to engage the fight.
When I was walking into lane, I'd ping my planned path using a blue ping.
